Product Description

Contains 24 pieces, each 1/4" wide by 6 " long, with 4 color coded sticks, and 5 belts, each in 600 (15 micron), 800 (14 micron), 1000 (12 micron), and 1200 (9 micron) grits.

With new Micro-Finish Film from 3M, you can achieve accurate, uniform, and close-tolerance finishing without having to give up speed

The backing is composed of micron sized aluminum oxide mineral resin and high quality polyester film. Due to their electrostatic charge, the particle points are all pointing the same way. The belt becomes more precise through this process

Materials such as this are useful for tool and die work, gunsmithing, jewelry making, watch repair, and medical equipment. Metal and plastic both benefit from the use of this material. Applied dry, the product has no water content.

Overall, these were extremely useful. There are a few things I think could be improved, but they have all been very helpful. It is quite easy to change the loops, and they give you a good supply of sandpaper The one thing I don't like about them is that they don't have a solid flat central structure. There are no indentations on the opposite side of the flat end between the opposite ends yet they are solid on the ends. This process has been designed for changing loops, and it is powered by a spring inside, so I can understand why it's designed that way, but it's still annoying when you are focused on using it.

The money was a waste

It was a waste of money for me, maybe they have a purpose, but gunsmithing and stockwork is not what they were designed for. I had thought they would save me time but well, it was NOT worth what I paid for them.

For fretwork, this works well

It is for polishing frets that I use them. The ends of them were filed to fit around the frets perfectly, which is why they are so effective. I find it really time efficient to have four micro mesh belts with different colors and patterns.
