Within five days of use, it had rusted and disintegrated. This isn't going to hold up in a wet environment. I could have bought steel wool for a few dollars at any hardware store and gotten the same result, but I'm going to buy stainless steel wool for my project. If you have any type of dampness, I recommend that you avoid purchasing this product and instead opt for stainless steel wool.
It rusted within a week of installation, indicating that it was not stainless steel as advertised. When I contacted the seller, despite the fact that his photos show it installed in weep holes, he replied: This product can be used to fill containers indoors. It can withstand water penetration to a certain extent, but not completely. Please accept my apologies for the misinformation provided. br>I'll make the necessary changes. br>Thank you for bringing up this idea.
The product isn't made of stainless steel. It rusts. It's not a good idea to use it outside or in wet conditions.
For the past four summers, we've been living in our RV in the same location. We have had rodents in the RV for the first time this year. We got some steel wool and stuffed it in the hole around the plumbing inside the island after finding open space. We haven't had any further mouse problems in the RV so far. It was simple to use and cut to the desired length with this product.
It was by far the most cost-effective option. Steel wool comes in a large quantity. When doubled up, it's ideal for sanding. I used it to make a draft stopper for the underside of the door. I crammed it in as tightly as I could and still have plenty left over to make another.
It's a little thin and could be thicker than I expected, but it'll do the job for a small job and at a lower cost.
To keep rodents out of my house, I used it to close up small entrances on the outside.
