This manufacturer (Rogue River Tools) sells 316L Stainless Steel Pads for a higher price, but they are not 316L. They sell a variety Pack of 6 Stainless Steel Pads for about the same price as the item in question. The type of stainless steel stated on the packaging for this assortment is Type 434, so I'm guessing here because I don't have anything concrete, but I'd say they're type 434 stainless. I hope this information is useful- heatman5
I'm not sure how much it weighs, but it's probably less than 4 ounces. It's very light, very useful for a lot of things, and it can be used on wet things or in water - It is rust-free (;
Stainless steel wool should suffice in your situation. When you're finished, wipe the area with a damp cloth to remove any loose material or wool left over from the cleaning process.

This is something I bought to use as a plug for holes and other such things. Because it rusts more slowly than regular steel wool, it repels rodents. However, it continues to rust - Do not be fooled. It's simply a matter of being truthful.
Approximately a month Even after all these years, it hasn't rusted! br>br>I'm overjoyed! I'd rather pay a little more than the standard kitchen steel wool pads and get something useful than pay less for something I'll only use once before throwing away and replacing it.
They appear to be in good working order; I originally bought them to finely sand wood detail that a palm sander couldn't reach. I didn't have a lot of luck. When using these steel wool pads, I learned the hard way to wear work gloves because I ended up with a few splinter-filled fingers. In my hand/fingers, it feels like I'm holding bits of steel.
Filling holes to keep mice out is a breeze with this! It's great that it's made of stainless steel and won't rust in wet environments! Just be cautious when ripping sections apart - Individual strands will slash through your skin with ease! It's self-evident, but it's all too easy to overlook.
It is impenetrable to vermin and bugs, but it is permeable to water. . . . It's also rust-free!.
To keep critters out of our boat, we put these in the water. It appears to have gone off without a hitch. I went with stainless steel because I didn't want it to rust.
It's made of stainless steel, so it won't rust, and it's ideal for keeping rodents out of RV cable and hose entry points.
I use some for dishwashing, and they scrub the pots and pans well, but they aren't made tightly enough.
