A rim surface is something I'm not familiar with. That said, I always use fine or very fine grade when preparing a surface for painting.
The pads are about 4x3 inches in size and 1 inch thick. I hope this has been of assistance.
I was asked to respond to this question, but I ordered the 0000 or 4 "aught" grade, which is a good product. did a great job If you're looking for information, simply Google it and you'll find far more than you need. However, if the 4 is what you require, I would venture to guess that this line will meet your expectations. Best wishes to you.

Steel wool isn't something I want to spend a lot of money on, so I didn't. I requested that the steel wool arrive within a week, and it did. If I ever need steel wool again, I will purchase this one. It's difficult to keep an eye on a steel wool review. I'm glad I'm not in the business of selling things.
Day 25 of the Captain's Log (star date: 8/11/2021): br>The hole that my little unwelcome visitors had been using had been filled. For the past two days, there have been no sightings, but the remaining foes appear to be fortifying their positions. Only time will tell how well my impenetrable steel wall stands up to the test of time. For the amount and the way it was used, I gave it five stars.
There isn't much to distinguish it from other steel wool products because it is steel wool. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the package and ad clearly state "steel wool pads," but all I got was a giant folded strip of steel wool. There are serration marks where I assume I should rip them apart, but ripping with my hands doesn't seem to work because the steel wool is super concentrated at those points, making ripping more difficult. Trying to get a usable amount of steel wool is a pain. To cut it into usable pieces, I went to the garage and got my tin snips. Regardless of the method I use, steel wool powder and bits are everywhere. This product does not appeal to me.
These are incredible! They effectively remove gunk, burnt grease, old stuck-on food, and stains from all surfaces. They are fantastic! They don't scratch my pots or stove top, which is something I was concerned about, and they do an excellent job. They come highly recommended.
It was very convenient to have the variety pack. Because the pads last a long time, it's a good idea to have a few of each, and you can gradually increase the grit as you use them. Now it appears that the pads are breaking apart, and I have a bunch of steel strands strewn about after each use. However, the end result is fantastic.
Cleaning chrome wheels has never been easier. It went from looking like this (photo 1) to looking like this (photo 2), and it's still not done. Despite the fact that the wheels are different, they are in nearly identical condition.
We use this steel wool to refinish furniture and find it to be very effective. While applying a rejuvenating finish to furniture, it does not harm the surface.
Over the last 40 years, I've used a variety of steel wool brands. I suppose Homax Rhodes' current 00 pads are adequate in general. However, I've previously discovered other steel-based products. When I needed a longer, thinner pad, I found wool pads to be much easier to "unfold. " Because I couldn't manipulate the material to meet my user's needs, I ended up wasting a lot of the middle of each pad.
