It functions satisfactorily, but as you use it, it breaks down into small brass fibers - Steel wool is much less effective. I had tiny brass pieces strewn about the place - I was restoring a gun that had a lot of nooks and crannies. I'm concerned about missing some of these fibers during final cleaning and the potential damage they could cause if they were left behind in the action or barrel. At the very least, I'm not going to use it for gun restoration any longer. For guns, the Big Frontier 45 is a far better option.

Cleaning a gun with the best wool. Steel wool isn't as good as this. Duper.
