Questions & Answers
I recommend using a 120 grit if you want a weathered/worn/suede look. If you only need to remove the gleaming glaze, a 400 grit will suffice. You could also put it in a pillowcase and put it in the dryer on low heat. Many people use this method to break in baseball gloves, and professional tanners use it to soften hides in professional tumblers.
Each package contains 5 sheets.
After you've removed the heavy sanding with something like a sanding rasp, you can use this sandpaper on a sander or a block; sandpaper holds up well when wet.
It all depends on where you buy. If you buy from MHS, Inc., you will receive the following benefits: 25 sheets are included in the package. It's not on the CAMI scale, and it's definitely not Silicone Carbide! This item was delivered to me this morning. This product's description is incorrect. This is the second time I've had a problem with a batch of paper I bought on Amazon (the first time was with Norton paper, which had a similar issue). There are two major issues to be concerned about:br>1. To the American consumer, this is NOT 320 grit paper. The CAMI scale is a measurement of the degree to which something is Rather, it's P320 grit, which is made according to the European FEPA scale. Abrasive size ranges from 42 to 45 microns in 320 grit. The abrasive size of P320 grit is 52 microns. According to the CAMI scale, this paper is slightly coarser than 240 grit. To find the P-, you must flip the paper over. rating. Because I only had one sheet left to compare, I can tell you that this paper is definitely coarser than 320 grit (CAMI).
2. This isn't Silicone Carbide paper at all! According to 3M's website, this paper is Aluminum Oxide. On the back of the paper, it says '213Q,' which is an abrasive product type from 3M. This morning, I was wet sanding a varnish coat and noticed that this paper only lasts about 1/3 as long as silicone carbide abrasive. br>br>Although unrelated to the above, I received my shipment a day late and the price has since gone up $1. Since 3 days ago, the number has been 05.
3M has a reputation for producing high-quality products, and this one is no exception. This came in handy when I needed to sand down some metal for jewelry. The sandpaper is effective and does not necessitate a lot of effort. It also appears to last a long time, as I was able to get almost all of my sanding done with just one pad. If you need a quick way to sand almost anything, this is the tool for you. This is the sandpaper you've been looking for.
I used these to get ready to paint my kitchen cabinets. I used a lot more sandpaper than I expected, but that isn't a complaint about the product. br>My only complaint is that I wish the sandpaper pieces were mallet-sized. I simply cut them into six smaller pieces, which worked out beautifully.
It is durable and does not easily tear, and one small piece can be used for a long time before losing its effectiveness. It's a nice fine grit that's simple to work with. It satisfies my needs.
Sandpaper that is of good quality. Small projects will benefit from it. If you're working on a large project, such as a table or a door, a sander is a must-have. Because your hands will get tired before you finish, this sandpaper is best used for removing burrs and other small objects.
br>br>Tip: Before wet sanding, soak the paper for a few hours and change the water frequently. Allow the paper to do the heavy lifting and sand with a rubber sanding block.
I bought these to sand down my cabinets before painting them. The grain is extremely fine. Although they wore out quickly, they were of good quality.
Excellent product; I try to buy 3M sandpaper whenever I can. In terms of grit, it is the most consistent.
