Questions & Answers
If you only want to take a fraction of an inch off the door, this is the way to go. Otherwise, smooth the work with a saw and then sandpaper.
Yes, it's fantastic!
You can, but you must keep the Porcelain wet at all times. I'd use a wet sandpaper with a grit of 100 to 120. 220 grit and an Orbital Sander are excellent for porcelain tile.
I'm not sure about when it's wet, but when it's dry, it's amazing. Finish sanding is excellent, and it does not clog, as advertised.

These Pro sandpapers, on average, last longer than regular sandpapers. They are unquestionably of higher quality, but they have the potential to destroy your rubber sanding pad. Sanding is accomplished through friction, which generates heat. The paper's backing is made of wax, which will melt and adhere to the sander's black rubber pad. When you take the paper off, you lose a small amount of the rubber that has adhered to it. You'll eventually lose chunks of the rubber pad material, rendering your sander nearly useless. This isn't an issue if you're sanding by hand rather than with a sander. Also, if your sander has a Velcro attachment, use it. There are no issues with things like attachment surfaces (like the excellent Wen 6313 sold here).
Be cautious if you plan to use this sandpaper to sharpen steel, chisels, knives, or plane blades. The only grit in the 3M line of sandpaper that I've noticed this with is the 220 grit, but it tends to become wavy, almost like thick glue lines running down the length of the paper. This is most noticeable when a small amount of honing fluid, or any moisture for that matter, is applied to the sheet while sharpening steel on a flat surface such as glass or granite. I haven't noticed this with any of the other 3M grits I've tried, only the 220 grit. Blades will either have a rounded over edge if sharpened across the waves or an undulated edge if sharpened in the same plane, depending on which way you've laid out the sandpaper. They're hard to spot just by looking at the paper, but trying to figure out why sharpening only dulls your blades will drive you insane. 3M paper, on the other hand, is usually a good choice because of its durability and long life.
My old trusted white 3M sandpaper appeared to have been replaced by this unknown stuff, which disappointed me. This, on the other hand, is fantastic. The two sides do not slide against each other when folded in half. Cool. And it doesn't clog at all. Not only did I clog slowly, but I also completed the job in one piece. How are they going to make a profit off of something that works so well? It appeals to me. br>br>.
I'm a woodworker, and I have to say that this sandpaper is fantastic. I was sanding in between coats of lacquer one day, and a painter who was painting my house noticed me sanding and offered me a piece of this stuff. This sand paper removed the material quickly and left a smooth surface, which I noticed right away. Due to the underlying sanding, my next coat of lacquer went on smoothly and glossy. It also has a long shelf life. Hand sanding, let's face it, is a pain, but it's sometimes necessary. You can finish the job faster and with less effort if you use this sand paper. When it comes to hand sanding, I'll use the purple because it's well worth the money.
I had high hopes for this sandpaper to be the longest-lasting I'd ever used, but I was sorely disappointed. I've used cheaper 0 grit sandpaper that lasted ten times as long as this garbage. It can't even finish a 1x6x6' board before it falls apart! It rips apart and has no backing. If at all possible, I'd like to return it. Spend your money wisely, in my opinion. Purchase what you've tried and proven to be effective.
This sandpaper is top-of-the-line. It'll easily outlast $17 worth of Chinese garbage, which has oddly high ratings. This stuff is razor-sharp, polishes easily, and lasts an eternity. It's also worth noting that it tears exactly where you'd like it to.
It can easily last five years. The most expensive stuff lasts ten times as long as the cheapest. Every other brand I've tried, including national name brands, doesn't last as long as this one.
3M is the market leader in providing high-quality sand paper that meets the needs of the majority of people. I have no regrets about paying a little more for a higher-quality product that will last longer.
