If you're using Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, however, you might be able to skip the 5000 grit. Even if it's overkill, I use it anyway. I spent a decade reconditioning vehicles, and I wish I had these in the early 1990s! If a scratch appears when wet, it's likely that it's just in the clear coat, and this paper will take care of it. br>Use a good lubricant or soap spray; Meguiar's waterless wash is one of my favorites. Vertical scratches are made with a horizontal motion, and vice versa. These are extremely effective.
When it comes to cleaning the gunk off of glass shower doors, there are two methods that are frequently recommended. The first involves the use of vinegar that has been heated to a high temperature. I'm a clumsy klutz. If I didn't die of asphyxia, I'd have to go to the ER and then a burn unit. The second is citrus. br>br> removing the build-up with lemon juice Forget about it. I tried. br>br>It's fairly simple to use this sand paper. All you have to do is keep it well lubricated with water. This will also remove any minor scratches left over from using more abrasive techniques. I also polished the chrome, which now looks like it was just installed.

This is a great product from 3-D Printing. I also bought the 3,000 grit sandpaper. Wet sanding is done with these. They don't clog and leave a lovely finish. My only gripe is that they wear out quickly. So I'd be cautious about how long you soak the pad and make sure you only use clean water. When the grit is gone or the wet/dry starts to break apart, sand paper will always break down, so these are neither better nor worse in terms of quality. But, in comparison to sand paper, I prefer these. Despite the fact that there is only one in the pack, it is equivalent to a five-pack of 3000 grit wet/dry sandpaper. As with regular sand paper, you won't get the clogging that causes swirl marks from trapped paint.
This is an excellent sand paper for wetsanding scratches and other minor blemishes off your car without damaging the clear coat. This sand paper is very forgiving for beginners who are just getting started with wet sanding, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to give it a try. With this wet/dry sandpaper, I was able to remove a number of minor scratches from both my own and my father's cars without damaging the clear coat. When you get into the finer sand papers that aren't trizact, like 2500/2000, you're more likely to burn through the clear coat, so I'd recommend starting with this and seeing how it goes. br>br>I also wanted to point out that those who complained that this did not remove orange peel/fish eyes from the clear coat were correct. To remove stubborn orange peel from a clear coat, you'll need 2000 grit sand paper, which won't work.
It's still suitable for use. I don't think it's worth the $8 after-tax price, but a more reasonable price wouldn't be much less. Aside from the price, I'm happy with its functionality and performance.
Perfect for removing tough water spots, "dropping" stains from birds, and acid rain pits from automobiles. Wet sanding with care; It takes some practice; for beginners, the 5000 vs 3000 is a good option. Without clogging, they can last for a long time. Finish with your favorite DA and a layer of compound/polish. If you need to practice, get a junkyard panel. Many YouTube how-to videosbr>br>Also great for polyurethane and painted wood finishing for an ultra smooth finish. Just keep in mind that some finishes may have a higher gloss after the final coat. Any finish necessitates a bit of practice.
