Selected User Reviews For Lincoln Electric KH267 Abrasive Roll, Emery Cloth Backing, Aluminum Oxide, 1" Width x 25 yds Length, 180 Grit (Pack of 1)
The abrasive from Lincoln Electric works well and can be used on a variety of woods as well as metals such as steel and brass. Where other brands have failed to give me a nice finish after a short time of use, I've been able to cut a length and use it for several days over multiple projects with this brand. Many of the things I make are made of fairly dense woods such as Katalox, Padauk, Redheart, and Purple heart, and other brands of abrasive just don't seem to deal with those dense hardwoods as well as I would like, which is one of the reasons I looked for another br>br>To keep the spools from unwinding, I use a rubber band around them. It also allows me to pull a length without having to constantly pull the rubber on and off. If they had a small box that they stayed in with a small slit opening to retrieve the length you need, that would be fantastic.
This works well and adheres to itself easily. It's a little thick, but that's to be expected from something rated at 600V. The first time I used it, it was to repair a frayed Macbook cable: It's still holding strong a year later, with none of the stickiness you'd expect from regular electrical tape.
On my machine lathe, I turn a variety of steels, so finding a paper that would stand up to the abuse was difficult. The cloth back is durable, heat resistant, abrasive stays in place, and it does not plug up easily. I was blown away; it performs far beyond my expectations, and I give Lincoln Electric a big thumbs up for getting it right. br>(Extremely tough emery; abrasive remains in place - There will be no plugging.
This emery cloth is excellent for the job. When removing it from the role, it's easy to tear, but it's durable enough to clean most services. This is excellent for removing rust and sharp edges from steel. I'm so glad I bought these rather than regular sandpaper. I simply hung it up by hammering a nail into the wall.
For the money, this is a good-sized roll.
excellent work.
For wood, it worked perfectly.
I was able to get it when I needed it.
