Rolls of this type are available in grits ranging from 80 to 500, including 320, 400, and 450 As far as I am aware, sandpaper rolls in grits higher than 500 do not exist.
According to 3M's own website, Stikit Gold is dry sandpaper, but if you wet it in a sparing manner you can also use it as semi-dry sandpaper It is like wet tissue The gentleman who stated that this is excessively coarse to be used as a wet sanding stage is correct. A better choice is to start with 400, then 600, and then 1000 or 1500 grit to finish. We also use 3000 grit quite often. My 1924 mission style bungalow on which 90 plus years of paint had been stripped was just right for the first cut after removing them with a heat gun and scraper. It fits perfectly into the 3 when you just tear off what you need. Sanding block of 5 inches in diameter from 3M. Its adhesive backing ensures secure attachment to the block so that it can do its job effectively. I have not used another brand that has lasted as long for paint stripping. In fact, I had to wire brush the paint off of the sand paper several times to remove as much as possible. The adhesive backing needs to be protected when not in use by keeping it in a zip lock bag. It's not worth the time and effort to take a second look at cheap substitutes, even if you're a hobbyist or a do-it-yourselfer.

PSA gold 3M sandpaper is the best for woodworking hands down. In comparison to others, it seems to last greatly longer, has a consistently finer abrasive grit size, and has just the right amount of adhesive. It also seems to release its backing more easily compared to other brands, It can be found in 80, 250, 220, and 400 counts. It appears that coarser grits are most effective. My experience with other brands has been rather disappointing when I tried to spend less on this one.
Papers of this type tend to stick to each other just right. Abrasives tend to last a long time. There is a lot of uniformity in the grit size. Message to employees. As soon as you are done sanding, remove the paper If you don't take this step, you will take some time to remove it Your sanding block will be covered in a thick layer of yucky residue.
Several sanding blocks can be used with it since it sticks to the block.
It does not clog up for a long time. The only thing to dislike is nothing.
Durablocks are my preferred method of printing on this paper. The highest quality sand paper that doesn't clog and stays sharp for a very long time. It is easy to remove the Stikit system from 3m yet it is very strong. Durablocks are my preferred method of printing on this paper.
You can use this product on restoring old cars, as our locally owned dealer discontinued it.
