I did not see the reducing bushing in the package when I opened it. When I opened the package, I thought it had fallen out somewhere on the ground. Initially, I was able to install this wheel seamlessly on my 1/2 inch shaft grinder. However, the grinder began malfunctioning within 10 minutes. Having finally realized that the 1/2" to 5/8" reducing bushing I installed was made of plastic, I replaced it. There was a problem with it due to the split. This wheel is not meant to be used with shafts smaller than 1/2 inch. Using a grinder incorrectly can be dangerous, and it's important to make sure that you use it correctly.
could not find out what number of wires this wheel brush has, but looking at the Forney web site, this wheel has four wires. There seem to be only one wire size available, and I believe that it is 008".

According to the description, this item is 1/2 inch thick, but its maximum thickness is 5/16". If you do not have bushings or washers, your nut will not be able to secure the steel wheel between the plates when fully tightened. There was so much play in my wheel that it could not even spin. In my WEN 4276 2, I would expect it to fit securely. The amp 6-watt As a suggested purchase, it even appears on the shopping list as an inch bench grinder with flexible light. specify the actual thickness of the wheel, or include bushings if such are necessary.
If you don't have spacers for your grinder, you shouldn't buy this wire wheel because it won't bolt up. The seller should include those spacers or give the consumer clear instructions that they must also purchase additional spacers for the item. Overall, I believe the item is not as described.
It took me a few tries with washers and spacers to get this unit to fit my Ryobi grinder. My issue with mounting it was resolved after getting it mounted. The fibers will lean in one direction after a while, so after removing it, spinning it around, and remounting it I noticed the fibers leaning in one direction. The process worked fine, but there are some individual strands that won't stay in place. Kids must be kept away from the house. One of those strands could get caught in your foot and cause you to squirm.
