Questions & Answers

Isn't it even more frustrating when they don't even tell you what size wire wheel it If I order shoes, I won't be able to specify the size?

Six inches is how tall it is. By looking at the technical details, you can usually figure out what size something is. The wire wheel I bought works great. Check out the customer reviews as well to see if the wheel is the right size. You are likely to find information that has already been provided in someone else's

Are there any measurements available for the size of this wire brush wheel? Can you tell me the thickness?

(Of the brush's wire portion, the width is 7/8" wide the arbor itself is 3/4" wide. That is the outside edge to the outside edge, not the core of the arbor hole.) Here's what I can think of that will answer

Where is the hole located? How big is it? Could you please let me know whether or not it fits ?

The hole size is 1/2" and the bushing slots into a 5/8" hole. The wheel I'm using has a 3/4" opening, so I need a larger one.

Can you tell me how big an arbor is?

An arbor measures 1/2 inch in diameter.

The thickness of the sheet is 3/4"
5/5

Thickness of DW4905 is one inch. It is a great set of wheels and they rarely shed. The DW4905 (after modification) was used weekly for 2 years to deburr tens of thousands of metal pieces until it finally had to be replaced. I bought both because I couldn't use the descriptions as they weren't accurate enough for me. It is shown on the packaging that the product DW4904 is 3/4" thick and the product DW4905 is 1" thick. In my 6" Delta grinder, the 1" wheel rubs against the inside (reducing power) unless I cut some wire off or remove the guard because the wires fan out at full speed. The 3/4" wheel will fit with the side arbor guard still in the place. It seems like using DW4904 would make a lot more sense.

There's no fine about it, just coarse
3/5

The Q&A was very interesting to me Buy this if it has an A and a review. There were no complaints about the reviews, but there were several questions There were a few vague answers in the A's, one of which directly came from Dewalt. They stated that this was neither coarse nor fine, and therefore they didn't define it as either. It's coarse, that's for sure! In addition to knowing it was coarse, I decided to use it on an old 60 year old MAC screwdriver and it worked well at removing old paint but wore out the embossed MAC and Sabina O logo much faster than the previously installed wire wheel I had previously used. In my line of work, I refinish a lot of tools. If you engrave the logos, that's really We are returning it, and I am in the process of acquiring It is absurd that manufacturers allocate them as coarse or fine instead of defining them with terms like coarse or fine?.

The work
5/5

Despite having been a customer since 2009, this brush has been one of the best brushes I have ever used, and I didn't get any discounts for saying that. In terms of installation, you pretty much have to leave the side cover off the wheel unless you don't mind the brush rubbing on the wheel, but I've never seen one with a brush that had the The tools are easy to use for removing rust and gaskets. For your well-being, it is always a good idea to wear safety glasses and gloves. purchase this brush, make sure to get dw9404, which is 3/4 inch wide. dw9505 is one inch wide. To me, the narrow brush is better because it will not rub inside the machine as much as the one inch wide.

A nice wire wheel that is not perfect
4/5

This is a nice wire wheel. It is constructed very well, it is solid, it is balanced well. A wheel like this won't yield to rust, dirt, or grime! It was the first piece of software on Apple that I ever used.

A better wheel should be found
3/5

There was an issue with the center plastic sleeve slicing and popping out, which caused the wheel to slip between the shaft and the deck. To make it stay, I had to wiggle my way down pretty hard. If you ask me, this wheel is not of good quality. I think it is an inefficient design if the entire wheel is dependent on the plastic center sleeve.

Wheels clean well and wires do not fly out from under it as they do with cheap brands
5/5

The wheel I had been using for more than 15 years had to be replaced. It is wider than the previous wheel I had, and I have not noticed that little wires are fly-out like they were on my old wheel. This wheel includes a nylon insert that adapts to different axles, so you can use it with any bench grinder. My old wheel taught me to always wear safety glasses whilst using the bench grinder, and also not to remove the safety wheel covers, which I did not have. I used the nylon ring for mine. Maybe it's a shock absorber, or maybe it's for the purpose of letting a thicker axle go through, but for me it worked.

Wire wheel of very good quality
4/5

However, there has been some vibration. As a replacement for a much cheaper version I currently own, I purchased this one. It has been vibrating like crazy on my current wheel, so I bought this Dewalt model in order to eliminate it. From the moment I took it out of the box, I noticed it was much better built. It looked very promising on paper that this wheel would eliminate all the vibration I was experiencing with my old wheel because the flange that mounts over the arbor was very wide. It is still vibrating once the battery has been mounted, but it is not near as bad as it was before, it isn't walking all over the bench. There is a problem with the plastic bushings, which is causing the instrument to vibrate. To achieve smoothness I have trimmed the wheel as much as I could. Dewalt would not need to change the bushing material if it used a harder material. This wheel is overall a good wheel and I would consider buying.

The cover is scraped, and the bushings are cheap
3/5

Although it looks good, it is too wide for my Dewalt grinder. I have also noticed that the bushings around the shaft are made out of cheap plastic that I am concerned might melt overtime. I tried flipping the washers to make it work, but it did not work. It is not advised to use it with the cover on, which might become.
