Questions & Answers

Is there a way to strip paint from a block foundation with this on a portable drill. There was a chip in the paint. Is there a way to attach it to a ?

Attaches to a drill but cannot be used with one. Ideally, the grinder should be able to accept attachments up to 5/8. Taking off big areas of paint may not be as effective as I would like. When it comes into contact with rough surfaces like brick, it will wear away

What happens if I remove the guard from this 6 inch nylon cup and use it with my 5 inch Bosch grinder?

If the thread pitch on the mandrel matches the thread pitch on the cup brush, you can. You don't want to overwork your grinder. Check how hot it gets as you work and stop when necessary.

What is the effectiveness of this product for cleaning calcium deposits and hard water deposits from the floor of a shower?

If it removes the calcium, it will likely leave a red tinge on the tile. I bought it to touch up excess dried mortar on tile and stone and it turned the surface pink after it was rubbed. Although it may work on some other applications, it may not work on all The discoloration and residue it leaves on hard-smooth surfaces is hard to remove. If you wish to use Dico brushes for this application, either orange or blue would be ideal.

How do you describe this grit?

Grit is not a factor in rating these On the other hand, they can be useful for removing rust and paint from metal.

Put this in a grinder, not a chopper
5/5

I put this brush on my grinder at 10k RPM because I had to do a lot with it and there were no instructions on how to do it. Those are rated at an impressive peak speed of 2500 RPM for a reason. As you run it at 10 K, the bristles open up flat and you can pretty much sense the impending doom. Despite not wearing eye protection, I managed to strip the bed of my truck in record time for a DIY bed liner, all the while expecting that the thing would self-destruct and likely take part of me along The finish went well I got lucky and did not encounter any problems, but I believe everything was due to * Believe me, I am telling the truth. If I think it is stupid and dangerous, please do not do it!.

This is an absolute must for bed liner preparation
5/5

The first thing I need to do is. . If you use an angle grinder with this brush (most are 10,001+ rpm, and this will completely ruin the brush and make it impossible to handle)

I went out and bought a cheap automotive buffer designed for buffing car painted surfaces. My model cost $45. I bought it from Harbor Freight. They supply a lot of comfort since they come with a variable speed setting, as well as a good grip. This is important. You should check to make sure your buffer pad has a 5/8 shank so that you can screw on this brush after you remove the buffer pad. This thing helped me reduce sanding time by a factor of 500 and I'm glad I have it! If it is too fast, it may be more effective to sand it slow. I sanded the bed of the truck in the attached photo in about five minutes. This is a piece of work worth its The short version If you are going to use an angle grinder, buy a cheap buffer with a 5/8 shank.

This product is used to prep decks
5/5

In order to remove the old finish, I used a deck stripper and a power washer. With the power washer, I was aggressive in trying to remove as much of the old finish as possible. There was a lot of fuss made on the surface. Fuzz can be removed easily and without damage to the wood with this brush. I'd much rather use this method In my case, I used a 7-inch sander/polisher set at a speed of I didn't have any problems with higher speed, but the bristles flared out a little because of the higher speed. It wouldn't be faster to use it Eight feet by forty feet is the size of the deck. It is not too late for the brush to return to life.

I use it to stuff the inside of my pickup bed to make my own bed liner
5/5

Scuffing up or sanding with this product is a good idea. To prevent the plastic from transferring, just spin at the recommended speed or slower. If you spin too fast, it will melt and you will see plastic transfer Taking off any highspots was quite easy, as the action of sanding was very aggressive and hard to control. A spin of it flattens it out to 8 inches, indicating that it has a lot of torque. Flattening it will not yield good results. A slower turn makes it easier to sand. There is no need to bear down on the brush too much to fit into dents because the brush fits well into corners and curves. Wear safety gear / wear a dust mask and sand while We used the yard blower to remove most of the dust. I used a $20 Harbor Freight angle grinder, which isn't the correct tool, and toggled the power switch to spin slowly to reduce dust. Due to the stress on the HF angle grinder, it had to come out of service following the three scuffs on the bed and the six holes that needed to be filled. After about an hour of stuffing the pickup bed truck, I had my haul done. Even though it was run with the wrong power tool, it was much more than The brush still has three-quarters of its original volume. As I prepared the bed for my DIY Herculiner coating that I was going to cost $100 As a result of the unusually cold weather and my garage not staying at a constant temperature, I couldn't keep it warm. A base coat of Line-X was applied to the bed. The free DIY coating we are doing for my friend's truck will make it so much more appealing, and he'll supply refreshing drinks, so he is glad.

Worked like a charm for me
5/5

When I first purchased this brush, I intended to use it for cleaning and de-greasing It would be better if I polished the bed of my pickup truck first before applying Yet, I haven't wrapped up that project. It did however help make my home's fascia and trim look better. Several paint chips and peels were visible on the wall. It was mind numbingly tedious to scrape it off by hand. I was able to brush it away quickly with this brush. I tried using a wire brush, but the brush did not dig into the wood like a wire brush. In addition, I quickly cleaned and stripped a couple of swamp coolers with the brush. I will report on how well it works on the truck bed once I buy another one for my original project. A couple of helpful hints It is best to let the tool do the work for you. It won't come easy. As the bristles flare out, they are rounded. It's up to you to take advantage of it. It is not necessary to buy an expensive grinder. The Chicago Electric I used was an old one.

Grout cleaner does a great job
5/5

Here's a quick look at the actual number The diameter of the bowl is 5", which for me My wife and I mounted it on a slow speed angle grinder and used it to clean travertine and slate showers and the slate floor of a bathroom. In addition to the mineral deposits, ten years' worth of soap residue disappeared as well. In the reworked version After sealing the shower, the floor appeared as if it had never been sealed. Similar results occurred in the kitchen as well. It is crucial to use a grout cleaner when cleaning grout. A 2200 rpm angle grinder was running in my garage. I would rather go a little slower than I am right now.

An 6" cup brush made of nylon filament
5/5

I've been using this to scuff the box on my truck to prepare for the bed liner, it's been a huge time saver for me. Using my cordless drill on the low setting, I've been running the drill. This drill is rather heavy and has quite a large diameter, so I have a hard time holding it. It might be better to find a smaller brush if you have a lot of corners and nooks to reach. For the inside of the box it is perfect, but for the walls around the wheel wells it may be a little snug. With a few quick passes, the shine is easily removed, but if you sit there for too long or have the metal cup hit the surface, you will be into the primer or metal fairly quickly. I've completed half of the box so far, and it looks new except for some dust.

I am very happy with how well it works
5/5

In preparation for installing a spray-in liner in my truck bed, I used this method. The value of this thing is evident right away after just a little hand sanding Take it to a slow speed polisher and polish it away. It doesn't fit into the tight places that this larger cup wheel would. So, I got a 2" cup wheel. It appears to be very strong too I believe I could do another 4 to 5 beds with it, although I would rather take a beating than do it that way (anyone who claims this is easy is lying). But I know it will be a lot easier.
