No way, I'm not going to fix the wheel. Yes, it should be dressed. I have a skate sharpener, and after every few pairs of skates, I dress the stone. I don't get a perfect edge unless I do it this way. The skates of those hockey players are extremely important to them.

Without making a jig to slide it evenly across the face of your grinding wheel, I'm not sure how anyone could use this. There are videos on YouTube about making such a jig, but the one I saw used a milling machine! I simply drilled a 1/2" hole in a scrap piece of wood and affixed another piece of wood underneath to slide across the tool rest. Of course, this requires that your tool rest have a straight edge against which the jig can accurately slide. It quickly and cleanly dressed (cut) the grinding wheel. Just be careful not to slip, or your grinding wheel will gouge and the diamond point may be damaged.
It works well on hard steel and maintains its sharpness even after being beaten up.
Product was of good quality and arrived on time.
After 5 seconds of touching the wheel, the diamond point fell out. I was also taking precautions. It was such a waste of money.
It's something I've used before to straighten a grinder wheel. It was an excellent solution.
A surface grinder stone is squared off with this tool. br>It does a fantastic job.
To refer to grinding wheels, I made a wooden jig. They're flat and true to the tool rest after a couple of passes.
In less than 10 minutes of use, this tool had worn through the diamond. It didn't last nearly as long as the $4 flat faced ones.
