I went to Lowe's and purchased four 5/8 washers; the openings were too large, but they did the job. I used two of the ones I bought, followed by the grinder's left washer. Put the wheel on, then add the right supplied washer, one more of the ones I bought, and finally the nut. It worked well, but there was a hum. The vibration was reduced after I removed the other wheel that came with the grinder. I used a spindle gouge to make a couple of snowmen for my wife. On my tools, this is the best grind I've ever had.
I've got a WEN 4286 3-piece set. Amp 8- Inch Slow Speed Bench Grinder, which required the purchase of two 5/8" flat washers in order to center it for my sharpening jig. I ended up putting one of the black provided washers on the right side of the wheel and the old, silver, larger washer that came with the previous stone wheel on the opposite side of the wheel. With only minor wiggle/vibration, it appears to be working fine.
This wheel has sharpened my turning tools to a razor's edge, and it's been a fantastic investment. The seller was incredibly accommodating and pleasant to deal with.
This was one of the best prices I could find for this type of product, and after a few brief uses, my initial impression is that the quality is excellent.
Sharpening is a breeze with this tool!.
