Awful. Even though I knew better, I took the risk anyway. Despite this, they managed to catch me off guard. This is basically a square tube with an uneven coating of diamonds (or whatever) glued to it, for those who don't know. The threaded handle is attached to the tube through a hole drilled in the side, but the hole is not threaded. On the inside of the tube, a hardware store hex nut and lock washer are used to secure the handle to the head. They do not, however, remain in place. But, far more troubling, this tube appears to have been sliced from a longer tube, leaving a (now diamond crusted) burr protruding about 1/16" from the face of this tool whose sole purpose is to flatten the face of a grinding wheel. The only tool I had to fix this diamond-encrusted burr was an iron file, which is now useless. The burr, on the other hand, has almost been filed back down to the surface, which is still uneven. I should've just tossed it out. I'm not going to let this thing near my new grinding wheel. Yosoo might be able to provide me with a tax receipt for my contribution to their profit margin.
Mine has several large diamond fragments that protrude from the rest of the surface, indicating inconsistency in quality. In addition, a portion of the side has been smeared with diamond and glue, which, while not harmful, is unsightly. The one in the picture is unquestionably an excellent example.
This is the ideal tool to clean the uneven surface of your grinding stone if you're a hole coworker like me who enjoys adding groves to your grinding stone.
The interface is straightforward.
Yes, it's a low-cost tool, but it performs as expected. I've used it on my Dremel stone grinding bits as well as the stones on my big bench grinder. I've been able to extend the life of those bits, though you must be careful because it will quickly wear down the Dremel stones. A++.
It worked as expected, but only lasted about two dressings per wheel. That's probably subjective, and it depends a lot on how bad the wheel is to begin with, but that's my opinion. It was exactly what I needed at an affordable price.
It's functional; the handle is a little short, but it's long enough to cover the stone. If you don't move it around a little, the stone will develop lines (which is why I gave it a 4). You won't get stripes in a stone type dresser because it is constantly renewing itself. However, because it does not change, you get a perfectly flat surface.
Who cares if it's cheap? In less than 20 seconds, it straightened my grinding wheel. yay! br>Make sure you're wearing a dust mask with an N95 rating - This produces a dust that is unhealthy to inhale (basically, ANY dust in the shop is unhealthy). Silicosis is a condition that needs to be researched. Thank you, LDC!.
