Kohler 20957-BST Cleaning & Organizing, 2.5 Gallon, Black Stainless Steel

All aspects of the product are exceptional, from the design to the build to the finish. Fast and easy closing is enabled by the slow close mechanism. I have never seen a collar to secure a bag better than this. There was one seemingly minor detail which forced me to lower my rating. This sticker was absolutely awful and there was no way it could be removed. It was very difficult for me to peel it off so slowly and carefully. There was glue residue on parts that did not come off and shredded. A gel called "Goo Gone" is what I use to remove adhesive. Although I soaked it in for 15 minutes, I didn't notice any effect. I tried isopropyl alcohol, vinegar, and enamel reducer. The results were the same. It was vital that the finish was not damaged, hence I used paper towels instead of abrasives. It was ultimately laid down flat and I kept it in the Goo Gone tank for up to Using 4 cycles of cleaning and reapplying, followed by a final rinse with degreaser, I was able to get it off. It ended up taking more than 90 minutes (45 minutes of that waiting for the solvent to work) to remove the sticker and the grain of the metal is still stained. BTW, a note to marketing, that sticker did not provide any information that would have been useful to me. There was no need to gather information because it was all elsewhere.

Nevertheless, when I removed the sticky labels I found that the shadow from the stickers was different than the finish of the lid and front. A glue-like substance, it feels sticky but is not adhesive. A total pleasure to work with. After calling Kohler customer support, it was suggested that I try an oily product. It was unsuccessful when I tried cooking with oil. Calling Kohler again and they told me that a return would be necessary if the finish didn't match. Therefore, I tried alcohol, windex, stainless cleaner, and all-purpose cleaner, but none of these worked. The cheap stickers Kohler used to ruin a great trash can are a real disappointment. The item has been returned to me.

While the removable inner cans are great for keeping the units clean, it is a bit difficult at first to get the bags fixed in place without them sticking out the edges of the lid, which defeats the purpose of the gorgeous In the photo, you can see how I tie the bags on one side and pull the strings tight (see above) As long as you slide them in carefully, you won't have any trouble keeping them in place once you've gotten used to However, it fits a 13 gallon standard tall kitchen garbage bag perfect, despite the fact that they are advertised as 8 gallons. These trash cans are more expensive in the beginning, but they fit a standard (and cheap) bag exactly because they are similar in style to a Simple Human trash can. The other option I considered was All of them, regardless of brand, had trash and recycling compartments, but most of them needed odd-shaped debris to operate The bags need to be the right size. The majority of these have a small recycling container adjacent to the larger trash container. Due to our tendency to recycle a lot, there are two good reasons It just made more sense for us to go with the smaller units. Both cans were shipped quickly and I received them in good condition - In perfect condition, packed in its original box. It is extremely hard to find a more beautiful and functional trash can than Kohler.

The price of this trash can made it difficult for me to give it a 5 Star rating on my end. BUT, this is a classic example of, "you get what you pay for. ". Here are a few highlights from this can I will - Using a standard 13 gallon trash bag, there is no need to use specialty can liners or bags. Human trash cans cost a lot less, but they charge $25 per 100 liners. There will be a lot of money to add up there. I will - There is no hitting of the wall when the lid is opened - Construction of very high quality* - The warranty is for a period of ten years. - Stainless steel that does not leave fingerprints.

As other reviewers have pointed out, the adhesive label leaves an unacceptably visible residue of glue on the can that is impossible to remove. As much as I tried, I did not manage to remove it, because returning an item of this size is extremely difficult. only that, but I broke my back in the attempt to fix the problem. Besides being disabled, this was not the kind of problem I needed. I have arranged for a replacement can since the original was for my mom and that was the one she requested. In the next couple of days, I will report back on how the replacement went. In the time since this review was written This is definitely not a good idea. Rather than losing time and energy, just save.
