Questions & Answers
It appears that others are referring to a different trash can. For two reasons, the 55L dual will not work with standard 13 gallon bags. The standard bags are too short, causing the bag to fall off the lip before it reaches the bottom of the can. Because the top opening of a standard bag is too large, it does not fit snugly like it would on a regular can. It's a shame that a company with the word "simple" in its name had to add to the confusion by inventing a new trash bag size.
You could (and I have) use another bag, but it's just not worth it. For $18 on Amazon, you can get a box of 60 liners (3x 20 pack). They cost $99 and fit perfectly without having the sloppy appearance of generic bags.
Each compartment has a capacity of 29 liters (approximately 7.4 gallons). 6 gallons of water
Glad Forceflex Kitchen Pro 20 Gallon works great, but the opening needs to be stretched a little. It's also available for purchase through Amazon.

I've made a confession. I am a well-educated frugal consumer, but I recently purchased a very expensive garbage can, which I adore! Easily one of the best kitchen investments I've ever made! br>br>I am part of a five-person family. In our town, recycling is done with single cans (everything goes into one big bucket). We've grown accustomed to having a step trash can and then leaving the recycling on the counter over the years. That eventually devolved into a bag sitting on top of the trash can containing varying amounts of recyclables. It was a dreadful and excruciating experience. br>br>I've looked at a number of Simplehuman recycling solutions over the years. On several occasions, I came close to making a purchase, but I couldn't pull the trigger. What kind of garbage could possibly be worth the cash? And then there's the liners, oh the liners. How could I possibly put myself in a position where I needed to purchase expensive trash can liners from an expensive trash can company? I mean, come on! br>br>Then something happened. I was finally fed up with the recycling piling up on top of the trash and the dog dragging it around the house. I also despised having to move the trash bag in order to dispose of it. After that, I came across this garbage can. I used to be concerned that there wasn't enough space under the lid for trash or recycling. I found this can to have the largest recycling and trash bins I could find. I pulled the trigger on the gun. As I paid $200 for a recycling can, tears streamed down my cheeks. I could always return it, so what the hell. I'm not obligated to use their liners; I could just tie a regular 13 gallon liner to the trash side and see what happens. The can arrived. br>br> I took it out of the box and stuffed the sample set of H size liners into the handy pocket on the back of the trash side; suddenly, there was no more clutter and plenty of room for trash! Angels sang as the heavens opened up. And let me tell you, it's well worth the money! The can is appealing to the eye and performs admirably. I can easily remove the recycling bucket and carry it to the garage, where I can deposit it in our town bin for collection. The size bags easily slide out, are tied together, and tossed in the regular trash can. I simply pull a new liner through the convenient slot and place it where it belongs before leaving with the full bag. Genius. br>br>Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, o In addition, there are the liners to consider. They are successful. I spent the money to get a lot of them because they work so well and are so convenient in the pocket on the trash can. After all, I'm still a penny pincher). Once you've received your can, go to the simplehuman website and register your warranty; they'll send you a coupon for $5 off your next order. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe it was 00. If you go to the simplehuman website, you can get 240 liners for free shipping (a size I couldn't find anywhere else). Purchase them with your coupon. br>br>You only have one life; don't waste it staring at trash or discarded recyclables! Just go ahead and do it. You will not be disappointed.
I never thought I'd spend so much money on a trash can - In fact, I experienced buyer's remorse as soon as I pressed the one-button button. a button should be clicked Take a moment to consider it. I live in a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment with only enough space for one garbage can. It's something I see on a daily basis. I'd rather see this than its predecessor, a $10 Rubbermaid that had food dripping from the edges and had to be hosed out on a weekly basis. br>br>I use regular 13 gallon garbage bags for this. Because I have arthritis in my fingers, inserting a new bag can be painful at times, but that's probably to be expected. When I read some reviews that claimed it could hold more than a regular 13-inch laptop, I laughed. a gallon bag, despite the fact that science seems to suggest otherwise! I can't back this up with any evidence. Those who complain about the liner bag in the back (and the added depth) should know that it is optional. Take a look at it from the side (as shown in the photo). The extra depth is due to the door hinges, not the storage of bag liners. This is due to the fact that the bin's sole purpose is to hold trash. br>br>I like how the garbage bag's edges are hidden by the bag storage system. It is also said to be effective at suffocating odors. I'm not sure if I have a sense of smell, but I'm hoping I do. My Rubbermaid, on the other hand, did not. Consider the following: br>br> This is pennies on the dollar if you're planning a $5,000 kitchen renovation. It gives my small kitchen a million-dollar makeover while also improving its functionality. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I finally gave in and purchased the Simple Human trash bags, and I'm glad I did. They're easier to fit on the bin, have a design that allows them to disappear beneath the rim, and appear to be of higher quality than the Glad bags I'd been using. I've yet to witness one of the bags burst open due to a sharp object. thrown away on the curb - Glad bags were frequently used for this purpose. Everyone knows how inconvenient it is to race to the garbage chute/wheelie bin only to have the trash bag fall apart.
I'm stumped as to what could have caused these. At first, I was completely enamored with this trashcan, but it is prone to dents. I'm stumped as to what could have caused these dents on the inside. I've only had it for a few weeks and never overfill it (I live alone, so I know exactly what goes in it). I don't put anything in there that I wouldn't put in there myself. This should last at least a month for the price.
DO NOT GET IT IN THIS COLOR FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THIS GARBAGE COULD COST. After a week, I went inside and cleaned it with Clorox wipes. out. As I wiped it clean, the rose gold began to peel away, revealing the stainless steel underneath. Very let down. If you do decide to buy it, stainless steel is the most secure option.
The plastic piece (see picture) (on the bottom) bent out, ripped the bag open, and is no longer fitted against the side after exactly 2 1/2 weeks while lifting the full bag out (manufacturer's bag that came with trash can). br>I will update after contacting customer service.
It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's well worth it Simple Human trash cans are pricey, but they're well worth the investment. br>This one is well-designed, long-lasting, and simple to use and clean. very useful (almost instinctive). Both sides are compatible with standard kitchen bags. br>br> This trash can includes a pack of Simple Human trash bags, which fit into a handy dispenser on the back of the trash can. I found these to be too expensive, so I simply fold regular trash bags so that they can be dispensed one at a time. br>On the recycling side, there is a removable can, but no bag dispenser. I suppose the average SH consumer washes and dries their recyclables diligently, so bags are unnecessary. I, on the other hand, consider myself fortunate if my recyclables are completely empty, so I use a clear bag. For quick bag changes, I keep a few empty bags in the can's bottom. The trash side has a removable bottom for easy cleaning, in addition to the dispenser. br>The exterior is fingerprint resistant (but not proof; I have a toddler) and wipes clean easily. br>The step has been consistent, and the lid closes softly and quietly. br>In general, I'm pleased with this garbage can. It'll look fantastic in my kitchen.
