It is necessary to place all shelves in place. For the spaces between each shelf and the next shelf, separate poles are provided, and these poles fit into holes in the shelves.

Right now, there is a lb bag of pet food on the shelf, and the shelf is sagging partly since the food bag sits there). There are also grooves along the outer edges of the shelves Often these are used as reinforcement to keep the edges from crumbling, but they can also hold a lot of stuff. Towels, rags, etc. would probably fit better in this container.
A couple of these shelf units have been on my shopping list since Their simplicity and good looks make them easy to assemble. Although the shelves appear sturdy, they sag in the middle with items that do not weigh anywhere close to 55 pounds, as they were advertised to. I regret buying them because they aren't sturdy and aren't worth the money. In my case, the shelves are used to hold containers of plastic beads, and the sag in the middle causes the containers to lean toward Because of the sag, the containers have fallen many times. It's possible I might donate these shelf units to Goodwill. I am now looking to purchase two different shelf units. My recommendation for this shelf unit is to avoid it.
Very easy to assemble, good quality for the price. While they are pretty sturdy for not too heavy items, they do not have anchors on the wall like other comparable shelves. Several of the shelves were adorned with minor molding strings, but nothing that was obvious or affective other than cosmetically. A few of the junction slots for multiple shelf units were very small, which made attaching them to one another quite difficult. No instructions came with them, but they were a snap to assemble regardless (you just have to make sure you put all the joints facing in the same direction if you plan to assemble A shelf that can hold 55lbs of anything is not a safe option, even if the weight is distributed well (I would try for 30lbs but that might be So if your storage needs are light weight items and you have a limited space that can accommodate this unit, it is still a very good option. This is a very easy unit.
A small corner of the laundry room is where the kids toss their shoes, so we bought these. This was so easy to set up that my sister could do it herself. The plastic should be of high quality. For storage in other rooms, I may buy another one that is taller.
It is in my laundry room that I keep these shelves. This type of shelf is excellent because it is 12 inches deep, compared to most shelves found in the stores that are 14 inches deep. The fact that they are not too wide is another reason why I bought them. This would be perfect for storing extra cleaning supplies whenever.
I'm pretty sure these shelves will be perfect for my needs. It only has the problem that two shelves were broken in the part where the legs go. Despite the packaging problems, I was able to assemble it and it will probably hold up. I think it would be better if it were packaged differently, however. In the corners, you may want to add some insulation.
