If you want to use 1/4-inch wheels, you need to get them A 20-size thread is used. Regular wheels are made to fit poles of 1" diameter at most home improvement stores. It is impossible to use regular wheels on this shelving unit because it has 3/4" poles. To date, I haven't found any heavy duty casters that will fit this shelf. An Amazon Basics version of this shelf is $54 and is much more sturdily built. This 99-piece desk includes a pole with a diameter of 1" and good 4" replaceable casters, just in case you want to haul heavier items. It is a shelf unit that carries more weight than the casters on the unit.
