Questions & Answers

Has anyone tried using a dry erase marker on this and wiped the contact paper clean without any issues? Is there any trace of it?

I purchased the contact paper so that I could cover my son's favorite coloring pages and allow him to color them over and over with dry erase markers. It's fantastic! If you use the right type of dry erase marker, there will be no residue at all. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER markers of odor After just a few uses, they will begin to leave a residue, but the regular ones are fine. I've had no problems with The Board Dudes' SRX dry erase.

Is it sticky enough to keep it from peeling up at the edges? I'm looking for something more long-term than low-cost. tack Con- Tact paper is a type of paper that is used to make ?

Yes- Because it is stuck to a narrow border of itself, it is sticky enough that it will not peel at the corners. I'm a teacher, and every year, my class uses this project to seal holiday placemats. They last a long time.

This is, as far as I can tell, a permanent glue. I'd like to use it for the majority of things, but I'd like to put it on glass. Do any of you have any experience applying it to a hard surface, such as glass, and then removing it? Is it easy to remove in one piece with little cleanup or does it leave a mess? Thanks! ?

I'm not sure if it makes a mess on the glass. Fortunately, it always comes off in one piece on my wood (particle board) shelves. Furthermore, even after years of use, the glue has never left a residue, indicating that it is not permanent.

Is the item more transparent or clear, or is it more matte?

It's clear, but not crystal clear; I wanted to use it for stickers, but it wouldn't work because it wasn't crystal clear.

Covering library books in class is a breeze! **Clear contact paper (this brand) was used to cover the bottom two books in the photo (Puss in Boots and True Story of Three Little Pigs)
5/5

The top two books in the image (I'll Wait Mr. Panda and Extreme Earth) have yet to be discussed. I figured a comparison would be beneficial! Most clear contact paper, in my experience, is a little cloudy, but this brand is crystal clear! Love it! *
br>As an elementary school teacher, I am the proud owner of a sizable classroom library. I first heard about covering class library books with clear contact paper to help them last longer when I was a new teacher, and I've been hooked ever since! In the last 15 years, I've read and reviewed over 2,000 books. I've gone through a ridiculous amount of contact paper, different brands, etc. , until I came across this brand a few months ago, tried it, and now I won't use anything else! Really- I've already placed a minimum of five orders! Why do I like it? br>br>Because: Grid lines are very clear, and the value for the price and amount is excellent. I HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone interested in preserving the appearance and durability of a book (or paper, or anything else!). )br>br>Additional Information- Once the books have been covered, wiping them down and sanitizing them is a breeze! br>br>Additional information- Look for books at garage sales and thrift stores (Deseret Industries is popular in Utah), remove the price tags (goo remover cleaner will remove sticky residue), and cover with clear contact paper, and you've got a super cheap book that's better than new! br>br>Please let me know if this is useful. I could review a lot of things (in this and other categories), but I rarely do. If I know it's beneficial, I'll try harder!.

It does not adhere to wooden surfaces
3/5

I bought it for a linen closet with wooden shelves. I quickly discovered that it does not adhere to wood at all after carefully trimming it to size - which was shown in one of the examples on this page and was predicted to appear on the Q (Of course, it's painted wood. ) I tried wrapping it around the edges to make it stick to itself a little better, but it was still pulling away from the wood and looking awful. br>br>This product page really needs to specify what materials this won't work for, either in pictures or in the description, because it's useless for my intended purpose. That's a shame, because I usually trust this brand.

The formula for Peel and Stick has changed
3/5

more difficult to work with The grid is no longer present, and the new version is more sticky than the previous one. We've been covering book jackets with peel and stick. We used to use Contac, but Duck Peel and Stick had a better grid for cutting straight lines and a clearer finish than Contac's matte finish. It was also more flexible and user-friendly than Contac. It's sticky enough to stick, but it's also repositionable. THE PRODUCT WE WERE USING WAS A 5 STAR PRODUCT, BUT THAT HAS CHANGED! We prefer it to Contac because it is more clear, but it is no longer as simple to use. It's a lot stickier and bubbles up a lot more than it used to. A few dotted lines have taken the place of the helpful grid. It's a tad thinner than Contac, but that's not a deal breaker for us. br>br>If I wasn't comparing it to the older version, which we loved, I probably would have given it more stars.

For adhesive vinyl, this is an excellent transfer tape
5/5

This product is what I use to apply adhesive vinyl as a transfer tape. It's a great deal when compared to other products, and it appears to have just the right amount of tack - It's not overly sticky, but it's just sticky enough to make application a breeze. When applying to painted wood, I recommend sticking to a shirt or something similar to reduce stickiness and ensure that no paint is peeled off. As a result, this product works well in a variety of applications, including wood, glass, and other materials.

It's a little difficult to install properly and it's a little thin, but it produces a glossy paint-like finish
4/5

such as the end result The laminate is a little thinner than I had anticipated, but once properly installed, it has a nice finish. It's prone to rolling and bunching up on itself because it's so thin. You can avoid a lot of the bubbles and creases by properly cutting the shape before placing it and only removing the backing as you smooth it out (don't remove all of the backing at once and try to place it like a giant sticker).

It's appropriate for book jackets
4/5

I've used it to protect dust jackets and softcover books, especially those with poorly trimmed or torn edges when they're manufactured or shipped. It works well for books because it is sticky enough to keep them in place once firmly pressed, but not so sticky that it leaves adhesive behind or pulls parts of the book with it if you need to remove them. Due to air bubbles, the peeling will occur. If you're doing it by yourself, you'll need to unroll a small section at a time and have some items to hold the paper down. It has a matte finish that is "clear. " br>The only issue I've had is that if you don't hold the adhesive paper down while peeling back the wax paper, it's easy to leave a crease. br>br>I'm not sure how long it is, but it's long enough for my needs, and I plan to buy more when my current roll runs out. I was debating whether to go with this or the Con- tact brand, but after reading some of the Con- I went with this one because it didn't leave any adhesive or sticky residue.
