Questions & Answers

Is the price for two racks included in the price, or is it just for one, requiring two orders?

This is for a pair of racks - thank you

This is advertised as a kit, and I'm not sure if I missed something, but does it include two kits in one? To put it another way, a kit with a pair? Thanks?

It comes with a pair, but don't expect to put much more than 50 pounds on them because they will bend.

It appears that the width can be adjusted. How wide can you go?

It's written right there in the title. 33 inches is the maximum size. However, I discovered that setting it to 30" makes it more stable.

Is it possible to rotate the two-hole flange mount 90 degrees to fit garage floor joists?

Because the pipe's holes are only on two sides, if you rotate the flanged end, the bottom piece that forms the shelf must also rotate in the same direction. I hope this has provided you with the information you require. The flanged part will fit on any joist, whether it is parallel or perpendicular.

To get a snug fit, wrap it up
5/5

As others have pointed out, the low price has a catch. The pieces aren't securely fastened together. At all. This, however, was a simple problem to solve. All you'll need for the smaller pieces is some tape. I used some scraps of floor striping tape, but I'm sure regular electrical tape would suffice. 7 turns, I discovered, closed the gap perfectly and eliminated the play that would have occurred otherwise. Once you've drilled through the tape, you're ready to go!.

Horrible design and misleading advertising
3/5

How difficult is it to create a rack like this? Smaller tubes are inserted into larger tubes, which are then bolted together. They, on the other hand, failed. The inner tubes are 15 mm in diameter, while the outer tubes are 20 mm in diameter. That's a 5 mm gap between the tubes, which is quite significant. The assembled rack is incredibly wobbly, swaying in all directions. Even when empty, it can't stay still, despite the fact that it's supposed to hold 400 pounds. Moreover, it is stated that the "TireLoft can be adjusted from widths of 34 in. 58 in. x 58 in. x 48 in. x 48 in "Well, the maximum width is only around 33," says the narrator. Maybe they were trying to make a _single_ rack out of two, but it's just misleading. I'm going to return it. br>br>.

There are no issues in this area
5/5

As long as you bolt it to the ceiling joists, this thing can hold a lot of weight. My only concern is that the bolts for the individual connecting bars are not sufficiently tightened to prevent them from moving. That's not a big deal unless you're worried about an earthquake, in which case it'll just shake. I don't think there'd be any serious consequences. It took some time to get everything set up, but I would definitely install one roof mount first, then connect and mount its mate after they were loosely connected. After that, make any necessary adjustments. Otherwise, unless you take the time to mark the ceiling with a T-square, you could be way off. square. Those lag bolts took the longest to install. If you have an impact, I'd recommend using it unless you're looking for a good workout. If you're going to use an impact, start the bolt by hand first and definitely predrill. I did, which made it a little easier, but it still took a long time; overall, 5 stars!.

Excellent hangers for the ceiling - incredibly steady I erected one to keep my extension ladders secure
5/5

I realized that, not because of the product, but because of the practicality, I would only want one ladder on each of them because they are all different sizes and used for different things around the house. Anyway, I put up the first one to see how it went before investing in a second. It was very stable, simple to install, and came with 3 inch lags in the box (at least the one I received), so I didn't have to go out and buy anything else. The steel gauge and lag screws are more than adequate to support a ladder and the advertised maximum weight. br>br>They did state that installation would take about 15 minutes, which was most likely accurate for the time spent drilling and assembling it. I installed them both by myself and it took me about 90 minutes total for the first one and about 60 minutes for the second. Assessing the placement, ensuring I was dead center on the joists I was going into, ensuring I didn't hit any wires, water, or sprinkler lines running through the ceiling of my garage, and ensuring the ladder feet wouldn't hit the garage door as it opened were the main drivers of time for me. I was able to double and triple check because there is an attic space above my garage with stairs up. I'm glad I did because one of the joists had an electric line running through it, so I had to move it slightly). Finally, I wanted to make certain that the location would make it simple to put together. I had to put the ladders up and down with the garage door closed because I needed to put them above where the door would lie if it was opened. br>br>Of course, adhere to the pre-planning instructions. If you don't drill as the lags, you'll probably split most joists. After installing the first bracket, I went up a fraction larger on the recommended drill and discovered that the lag was still a tight fit but much easier to install (and I greased them all before doing so). My final suggestion is to construct the "U" portion and install it as a single unit after installing the bracket holders in the ceiling. Install the bolts first as holders, then the washers and nuts (it should stay in place while you're doing this). On the first one, I discovered that attempting to construct the "U" one piece at a time resulted in "over-building. " To insert the bottom bracket, "stretch" the bracket holders. If I had to put up another ceiling bracket, I would use these again. Solid foundation.

The quality is poor, and it needs to be improved
3/5

The holes did not line up for the shortest setting, which was the only setting I could use, as reported in other reviews of this product. Because I needed the shelf up as soon as possible, I decided to modify the brackets myself, which required grinding the bottoms off. A quarter-inch of material had to be removed from two brackets. Please look at the images. br>br>If you're mounting the shelf for a height of more than 17", you won't have any problems.

Excellent Product: These were fantastic! It is very simple to set up
4/5

I do agree that the bolts should be lubricated as suggested! That's a lot more convenient. All of the pieces were included in the package, as well as very simple instructions. More of these would be ordered if I had more room.

The quality of Hyloft is extremely poor
3/5

I read the reviews about this item's poor fit and wobbling before buying it, and I figured it couldn't be that bad. That is how bad it is! Some of the reviews from 2018 claim that the building is in poor condition. It hasn't changed in four years! The manufacturer, obviously, is unconcerned! When the hangar is put together, there are gaps (of various sizes) in the fit of the rods, which makes it very unstable. This is not a rack-mountable device. Two hangars are involved. Wrapping tape is one option for filling gaps, but I chose to use plastic shims instead. The finished product was acceptable with the shims, but I would not recommend this hangar unless you are prepared to make your own modifications. Customer service at the company was non-existent. existent- They don't pick up the phone or respond to messages. You're most likely looking for a more suitable replacement. built a hangar.
