In Minnesota, it gets quite cold during the winter - this was what I bought In the range of 10 to -10 Those who are 20 below the minimum are welcome. The garage is the perfect place to have this product There is plenty of ventilation in the basement. It is not a good idea to have these in the living room or bedroom. They didn't tell you about the smell until after you arrived. The smoke was evident as soon as I entered the room The smell of natural gas is strong if you are near the flames. This heater even set off my smoke alarm after a while. Keeping this heater out of the home if anyone in your family has asthma is not a good idea. There is a need for high ventilation with this heater. Make sure the codes in your local area are valid before purchasing.
We had a 30000 btu heater in the basement for a cold climate. It was a dual fuel boiler. The gas valve failed during the second season and a replacement will not be available until August. Gas valves are excellent on the heater, but not so much on the thermostat. I just installed it and it was very easy to install. The light comes on right away.
