The igniter on this unit is for my Mr Heater appliance (30,000 btu heater)? I have no problems with my pilot, but I cannot turn on the igniter switch. ?

I decided to try this part because I had trouble getting my pilot to stay in and it fixed the problem. If your battery in the ignition does not work, check your ignition first. If that does not work, try this part.

How does this compare to the SIT ventless gas log assembly?

Although I am not sure if it would work, I tried it on my gas fireplace and it did not work. There had to be one attached with an oxygen depletion sensor.

How does it work with a ventless propane heater MHIRP30LT? The thermocouples used in this assembly are different from the ones used in prior assemblies. ?

There is no short answer to this question. My opinion is that it's not true. As it says in the description, I bought this assembly for a ventless natural gas heater. But I also purchased a 20k and a 30k LP ventless heater. There is a difference between the size of the pilot orifice on NG and LP heaters. While I cannot rule out the possibility of it working, I think it won't.

The size and fit were perfect. I must point out, however, that because of the way the heater cabinet is put together, not everyone will be able to disassemble the heater and install the kit and to put everything back together correctly. It is imperative that a person understands the needs of a natural gas heater before working on one. It does not impact the review of the product, however, since it was purchased on As a side note, I wanted to mention that the heater was harder to disassemble than expected. The process did not take long, but it took longer than expected.

A second of these has been purchased by me. Since several years ago, I have been using two of these units for zone heating in my house. My pilot light would not stay lit so I went to Amazon to order my part. It takes me about 45 minutes to install the part, although I spend a considerable amount of time.
