By using a metal angle iron and screws to fix the piece to the wood via a slot used for screws
The product is installed in a house I no longer own, so I can't weigh it. If it isn't in the product description, I would imagine the manufacturer might be able to answer that question. When I returned the mantel because I didn't like it, the cost was too high to cancel the order.

There is no need for brackets since the wood bar on the wall makes hanging/leveling very easy and quick. We absolutely love the way it complements our stone wall around our fireplace all the way up to the ceiling. There is no bracket for hanging the product, but it was easy to install. There have been some reviews that state their are no hangers included, but there is not, it is simply a wood bar attached to the wall and the shelf drops onto it and is very secure. It is difficult to get it level so that might be the biggest challenge, but we were pleased to discover that ours came out perfectly level. If you don't get it exactly centered when it's hung, you can easily move it to the left or right once it's in place, since the bar that has to be The quality is great and the construction is very good. If you want, it can be hung either with or without the corbels. The corbels are the way we prefer it. The dimension and charm of the pearls just add to their beauty. The kit is very well wrapped so that shipping problems are very unlikely to occur.
This is the perfect solution for a lightweight, functional, Amazon. com drew us to this style (we returned the others-- It's prime time!). I love you, Prime. A preservative from Minwax was used This pine softwood was stained (this is a pine softwood) then buffed with For better control, wipe on and then wipe off right away to avoid too much darkening). It was important to me that the corbels be placed differently than the pre-existing locations The main piece of artwork is located in these spots. It was easy to mark and redrill the holes for the corbels, and they attached perfectly. The corbels have a hex bolt and washer through the center, and the bolts are attached to the washers in the main piece. I like the way it's attached. There is no pre-drilled hole in the mounting bracket (wood).
There's a darker brown tone to it. It still has a special place in my heart.
Thank you for my purchase! I am very happy with it. In addition to being sturdy, the color of the mantel is beautiful and it has a very rich appearance. For the price, this is an excellent buy. I highly recommend it.
As you can see, the edges are not natural. They look obviously manmade with the cross-hatched The same goes for stamped knots that don't exist. Clearly not a solid piece, as we knew, but others may not have realized. It was very Consider local options that you can inspect before buying, as it is highly unlikely that you can return it.
The situation is so However, we received one that had water spots all over the front and top of it. It seemed like a great mantel, but we didn't have luck with it. You totally messed up the I contacted the seller, and they told me that the manufacturer creates these "spots" to give it a "distressed" appearance. I would not describe that as There was a problem with how the fabric got stained. A word of caution you may also be unlucky. Taking such a risk would not be worth the money spent. Trying to figure out how to return this and go with another manufacturer. It looks a little fake as it consists of a bunch of planks glued together rather than one piece.
Then I hung this mantle and felt extremely disappointed. From the pictures online, it appeared to have more detail and a tighter grain than it is. It appears to be a soft pine-like material with substantial knots. I did not return it due to the fact that I was staining it with a dark stain color anyway, so I was not disappointed with the wood grain. My first coat of stain was applied after sanding all sides of the wood with a palm sander (240 grit). It was frustrating to see several spots on the mantle where wood glue or filler had left an indelible mark. Then I had to wait for the stain to dry and then sand again with 120 and then 240 grit, and then apply stain again. It was more difficult this time to discern the spots due to the blend Finally, it was time to hang it once the stain was coated and a couple of top coats were applied. It doesn't matter what they use for wood preparation, I am still not happy. You can see how the rustic areas of the mantle didn't take the Hanger boards come with simple instructions for mounting. The weight of the hanger board is quite heavy. I was shocked to discover upon hanging the mantle that the top board is greatly warped and twisted, causing the mantle not to hang correctly and taking on an unattractive appearance! It is NFC if I can figure out how to make it work, and I am confident that they will not return it once I finish.
I love how it looks over the fireplace, and it was so If you're drilling into your fireplace, or whatever you're drilling into, ensure you know how to drill properly. There is a very thick layer of rock and I was afraid it might not even out. In spite of the fact that the fireplace is very old, the old owners took down the mantel for some Exactly what I was looking for! I highly recommend this book.
