Tina, I have a Kamado Joe, which is why I bought the nuggets in the first place. They're absolutely incredible. You only need one nugget to get started. Make a small bed of hardwood charcoal, place the nugget on top of it, and then stack charcoal on top of it. Light the nugget and place it on a bed of charcoal. I occasionally use two nuggets if I'm in a hurry. I can't tell you how simple it is to get my Joe going with these nuggets. I'm not sure if anyone has told you this, but I've found that removing the ash hopper allows more air to enter, which allows my Joe to heat up faster. The Lightning Nuggets come highly recommended by me. Grilling is fun. Ken
The nuggets are made up of wood shavings and wax that have been shaped into a half-round shape and are used to start the fire instead of paper. It should work, but I'd double-check to see if it's listed on the side of your stove. I hope this has been of assistance.
M A S is correct: I simply fill my chimney starter with charcoal, place the nugget on the grill charcoal grate, light it, and then top it with the filled chimney. Within 15 minutes - You'll have hot charcoal ready to cook in 25 minutes!

Some people, I'm sure, can start a fire with just a single match and a wood chip. There are numerous methods for keeping a fire going over night. But that is not the case with me. No. Every morning, I start a new fire in a cold stove, and almost every time I struggle. Part of it is due to personal preference, but the majority is not. Firestarters are one of my favorite things. I used to like Duraflame starters, but they were no longer available for a reasonable price, so I bought these instead.
Living in the coldest city in the United States is a unique experience. We start fires once or twice a day, on average, for six months in America, and it quickly becomes exhausting. Making kindling is also not my favorite pastime, especially at my age of 30. It's probably my least favorite aspect of using wood to heat when the temperature drops below 40 degrees. br>br>I was desperate for a way out of yet another chore that had to be completed in the freezing temperatures. To me, a product like this is only worthwhile if it completely eliminates the need. I figured that saving $25 by not having to do the kindling chore was worth it, so I gave it a try. I've built so many fires without using a single piece of kindling, each time on the first try, that these have become indispensable. These firestarters are one of my favorites; they last for ten minutes. All you have to do is make sure there is oxygen and fuel, and the heat will be taken care of automatically after 15 minutes. We keep mentioning how it's changed the difficulty of using wood as a primary source of heat. I also appreciate the fact that they come in a bulk pack, rather than those annoying 24-packs. In our house, the packs out there wouldn't even last two weeks. br>br>The fire technique I employ is similar to that of a log cabin. Two normal-sized pieces inserted front to back about an inch apart into the stove, followed by two slightly smaller pieces placed side by side, right next to one another. On top of that, place another piece or two, front to back, to give the fire a place to grow. This is something we really enjoy. Every year, we purchase a box, which lasts us through the winter. They light up as expected, with perhaps one or two duds. It's worth noting that lighting with matches takes a little longer than using a lighter or, even better, a small blow torch lighter. It's as simple as that. Unlike some other fire starters, these are not harmful to the environment. I remember reading somewhere that some people received a defective box. Returning and trying again is something I would recommend. It's possible that it was just a faulty box. We've bought three boxes over the course of three years and have yet to receive a bad one.

Because our usual source of candle-style fire starters was unavailable due to the shutdowns, we purchased these. We have a fire pit in our backyard and a travel trailer, so we also have campfires on vacations, so we use a lot of fire starters. The local wood is frequently damp and difficult to light. The only disadvantage is that if taken out of the box while inside the camper, the wood shavings will get all over the place, making it difficult to get even damp wood going. Simply opening the top of the box can cause shaving to spill all over the floor. That said, I'm currently transporting them in the back of my truck until I can find a more suitable container. Otherwise, they're fantastic, and we'll be purchasing them again.
These nuggets resemble miniature magical domes. I'm terrible at starting fires (clearly I didn't get that patch during my brief stint in the girl scouts), but with these babies, I can get our wood burning stove up and running in no time! I don't have to call my husband while he's at work to walk me through starting a fire (again), and I'm sure he's even happier with this purchase than I am. We keep some in our travel trailer and camping gear, and they're great for quickly lighting a campfire. I even have some in my "bug out" bag that I keep in the trunk of my car. It is impossible to be too well prepared; ) and maybe, with these little guys, I won't freeze to death when my car breaks down in the middle of winter on a remote mountain back road.
