The answer should be no. This fan has never caused any issues for me. The fan is made of metal with wires and such inside. I wouldn't want water near it anyway, just to be safe. In this case, I would not expose the piece of equipment to anything wet like rain (including wet weather), which can lead to an electrical fire or shortage.
