They stick out about 6 inches from the wall, but one thing went wrong with mine: they both stopped moving back and forth within three months, and they didn't even respond to my feedback. I would not buy them again.

It's adequate, but it's a great deal. After mounting, I have conflicting emotions about safety. I believe it is appropriate for adults who will mount it and use it appropriately. It's not for rowdy kids who could tear it down in a matter of minutes. Without appropriate wall anchors, I would NOT mount these directly to drywall. My issue is that neither fan came with the'mounting plate' that was described in the user manual. Two medium screws and plastic wall anchors were the only pieces of hardware. These fans are a bit of a hulk. The screws provided must be mounted on solid wood. I'm fine with mounting them on large, solid wood window frames, but anything else will necessitate reinforcements. It was a pain to put together. With needle nose pliers, I bent and adjusted each of the front guard clips. Now comes the fun part. They're quiet and solid, and the oscillation is silky smooth. This is far superior to having large, ineffective fans occupying all of the available floor space. When placed in a still position, they also stay put quite well. I had both on high for the entire 24 hours, with no wobble, shaking, or vibration. Nothing but quiet and smooth. Pull cords aren't particularly elegant, but they're practical and effective. I connected them to the internet. Alexa will be able to turn on and off the wi-fi sockets. I installed both in a small bedroom, where there is a reasonable amount of air movement and a normal fan noise level. I paid $60 for two and am happy with it. I'd be furious if I'd paid $60 for each. So you make your decision; I emailed the seller about the missing mounting plates and will update if I hear back.
But there are a few oddities to report: I bought two and have only installed the first. I expected the fan to be a little bigger, but that's fine. There is no doubt that it moves a lot of air. My wife wanted it for moving/replacing shower steam and hot air from her hairdryer in our oversized master bath. It was simple to set up. DO NOT, ON THE OTHER HAND, USE THE CHEAP $0. THERE ARE THREE PLASTIC ANCHORS INCLUDED. That's a joke, and it wouldn't keep this fan from falling off the wall. no way. When the fan is set to sweep or oscillate left to right, it appears to go further one way than the other. I was fortunate to have a horizontal stud in the perfect location, so I had hard-mounted screws into studs. It's definitely not 50 degrees to the left and 50 degrees to the right. 60 degrees left/30 degrees right would be a better description. This, too, isn't a major issue. However, it would be nice if it were symmetrical. There's no way to compensate for that, as far as I can tell. The timer indicator logic is the final minor issue. When the timer is used. The timer delay is indicated by the LED lights on the panel, but they are backwards. One- The timer on the remote says it will turn off in 30 minutes, but the light on the fans says it will turn off in 8 hours. as well as others As a result, the longer you click the timer, the longer the timer fan turns off. However, the lights begin counting DOWN from 8 hours, which is a minor annoyance that took me several hours of trial and error to figure out. As you might expect, my initial reaction was that the Timer was broken. It does; however, the logic behind it is illogical. Because it's so close to a power outlet, it'll last a long time. I'm going to cut the wire and attach an AC male plug to the end of it, as shown in the picture. It came with about 14 inches of wire, but I only need about 6 inches. As a result, none of this nonsense matters. But it certainly merits three or four stars; I'm in a generous mood, so I'll give it four.
One of the four fans was broken when it arrived. I have no complaints about how quickly they replaced it. So far, I've been very pleased. I'll see how long they last, and I bought the extended warranty in case anything goes wrong.
These are great little fans for an indoor garden because they are so inexpensive. For some of us, not having lights is a plus, and because I have digital fans, I never touch the controls, so it's not really necessary. They do their job by moving air.
I'm using these fans in a grow room, and they're perfect for what they're supposed to do. I would buy it again and will most likely do so. 10 out of 10.
Great controls and functions on this fan. The fan was simple to put together and comes with a removable mounting plate for easy installation on the wall. The remote control is compact and effective. The fan is easy to operate and includes a breeze setting. It's in front of my treadmill in my garage, and it's perfect. This fan is much quieter and starts up much faster than my previous floor standing fan.
When I messaged the seller, all they said was "sorry to hear that, here's the link to begin a return. " Basically, it's not looking good for me. There was no mention of sending a replacement or, at the very least, sending me the components that were missing. In any case, it's a dreadful fan that appears to be low-cost.
I expected a lot more airflow based on the reviews, but it's not there. It's very simple to put together and hang on the wall. I wish the cord was a little longer because you can't hang it very high up with only a six foot cord; however, I like the remote feature for turning it off and on because I don't have to get too close to the hot stove. I'll report back on how it holds up later. We've only been using it for a day.
