Product Description

DEHUMIDIFIER FOR 1500 SQ FT - Used in a basement, bathroom, bedroom, or crawlspace, our dehumidifier can collect 20 pints (the highest amount of water allowed by DOE) of water at a time and maintain the proper humidity levels. A healthy 45%-55% humidity range may appear to be an impossible goal, but it's actually very easy to achieve. For best results, you may need to purchase a larger unit depending on the climate in your area and the size of your room
FEATURES THAT MARK INNOVATION - Auto-restart function insulates you from the inconvenience of power outages by activating settings at the first sign of a power surge. Using the auto-defrost function, the collected water is kept from freezing and damaging the machine. The power supply is a 1-phase, 115 volt, 60 Hertz.
CONTINUOUS AND QUIET OPERATION - Low volume operation equivalent to a quiet conversation is ensured by a maximum 51 decibel limit. Additionally, because the unit is Energy Star certified, it features a continuous moisture depletion mode that assures your home is at the appropriate humidity level at all times
MAINTENANCE IS EASY - The included tank can be easily emptied A 75-inch female garden hose (not included) is connected to the socket built into the unit to allow gravity fed continuous drainage. Furthermore, reusable filters are economical and preserve the quality of the air without costs associated with replacements
World's largest air conditioning company, Midea provides air conditioning products around the world. We offer a one-year parts and labor warranty on this product as a testament to our commitment to quality

Questions & Answers

What do I need to do to set it to turn on and off when I want it to? Isn't it automatically turned off when humidity reaches a certain level or do I need to set a preferred humidity level first?

There is a control for humidity. You must set the level of humidity you desire, and the compressor will then drop the humidity to that setting. As soon as the level rises, it will get back on standby, and kick back in when the level drops.

The unit seems to be blowing all that hot air out. Is it normal?

The whole idea behind dehumidifiers is to remove moisture. During the cooling process, they cool the incoming air to condensation point, which then cools the hot coil inside This means that the 300 Watts of power it consumes gets dissipated inside. *Air conditioners have an outdoor coil that means that heat and power are transferred to the outdoors.

Is it possible for this dehumidifier to dehumidify a large area?

There was a reference to 1500 or 3000 cubic feet

What if it leaks onto the floor, and the internal reservoir will not fill up?

I'm here. Regarding the Midea MAD50C1ZWS Dehumidifier, please accept my sincere thanks. Your unit has been experiencing this issue. We apologize for this inconvenience. If the leak has been caused by a loose drain hose, a bucket that is not properly inserted or a cracked bucket, there are steps that can be taken to determine it. There is nothing more refreshing than a drink from this thing! It got worse when we had guests showering in the basement in which I have a finished basement with humidity I need to control
5/5

It was my expectation that I would have to empty this unit every week or so when I bought it. The vent will fill every 12 hours if the humidity is 60% and the comfort setting is on. I have extracted 6 gallons of water from fat air in only 12 hours! Such an incredible feat, next I need to figure out how to plum it in so I won't constantly have to dump it once it's filled. It is difficult to remove or set back in place the reservoir due to its tight fit, and each gallon is approximately 7 gallons. This box weighs 5 pounds, so if you plan to empty it every day, consider its size. While I am not bothered by it, I wouldn't buy it for my grandmother. Although nothing is against this product, I would like to add the ability to filter the water so it can be safely consumed. As a result of this unit, I am dumping water down the drain, then paying the utility company for drinking water. If I can pull off combining the two, it would be amazing. It was just something I didn't think of until after I'd purchased it.

I'll give you another
5/5

You HAVE to see it to believe it. Upon assembly, I was able to complete the process without the aid of my husband within 15 minutes. Easy assembly is made possible by the included instructions. I can easily dump away water from the water bucket because the handle makes it easy. In case I am away, the bucket is a decent size, so I probably wouldn't have to empty the water every now and then. Dehumidifiers have roller options, which allow me to move them around the house without dragging them while they work. In any case, the machine is not too heavy. I can adjust it at night with illuminating buttons on the top of the machine (pictures below). For the past 3 days, I have run it 24/7 in comfort mode. It just keeps the humidity level at the level I set, so I know I set it correctly since it won't be on at all times. I also appreciate that the filter on this dehumidifier is washable, and it gives you an alert when either the filter needs to be cleaned or the water needs to be emptied so I don't have to keep an eye on the bucket or forget to empty I found that it was not too noisy in comparison with other machines I had seen previously. In addition to the one I am getting for the basement, I am getting another one.

That was exactly what I was looking for
5/5

Florida is a place where the daily humidity can creep into every nook and cranny, making it feel like you are swimming in a soup bowl in the middle of the day. We are in our third year Two reasons led me to lower the humidity in my apartment one, I wanted to feel better and two, I wanted to protect my apartment In order to achieve this, I had to run the unit around the clock for around three weeks without any issues. Every time it ran, it consistently pulled buckets and buckets of water out of the air. Approximately every six weeks, the collection bucket would be full. Usually, I should expect this to take a few hours since the humidity in my room was around 75%. I have not noticed any slowdown or stress and the unit appears to be functioning fine. This would be a great purchase for anyone who needs to remove large volumes of moisture from the air, or for those with large spaces that need to maintain comfortable humidity.

The system provides efficiency, quiet operation, and ease of operation
5/5

The dehumidifier in this review is really good. The dehumidifier is very effective at its job, and it does it with very little noise. Other dehumidifiers can be quite noisy, but this is so far the quietest of its kind.

If you want to drain the water, you can attach a general garden hose, which is very economical as far as replacements and durability go. Dehumidifiers sometimes require a special hose, and I have found that replacing this can be a bit of a pain. The gravity drain can also be closed with the screw on cap that is provided for this device, or you can collect the water in the large reservoir. Easy to take in and out, with a flat bottom so you can balance it easily on the floor when removing it from the drawer 8-gallons, easy to take in and out and easy to remove I don't have to deal with accidental spills like I did My home humidity without it running is 85 to 95%, and it has to be emptied twice a day on high with a humidity goal of 45% where I live, because I live in a very humid location The 90 percent Yeah, that is quite a high number. If you set the fan speed to low and use the comfort setting, the hopper will have to be emptied once every 36 hours There has been a requirement for comfort settings for at least 48 hours. The automatic mode automatically balances the heat generation (which is helpful on hot days when your AC is having trouble cooling your home) and a comfortable relative humidity level, typically around 50%. Five hundred percent. Two of these units have been given to me, one a 50 quart and one a 70 quart. As I wanted to use the 50 to dehumidify my 800 square foot basement, I ordered the 70, which uses a bit more power. The 50 was suitable to dehumidify my 1000 square foot home, so I ordered it instead of the 50. Now, I keep the 70 on the lower comfort auto setting. In the same room, I had the 50 on an auto maintain 45% humidity setting. However, even though the 50 uses less overall energy than the 70, they both end up using about the same amount in the end since the 70 comes on less often. The unit is definitely one I would recommend to a friend, and I have already done so. In general, I don't recommend many products, but this one deserves a thorough review, so I'm taking time out of my busy time to give you my honest feedback. One of the best things about it is that it automatically reboots after regaining power after a power interruption. Most devices keep their settings and you have to push the power button for it to start up. This product does generally well, and I would give it.

There was a problem with the item
3/5

I tested mine and it did not extract any moisture. It looks nice and runs quietly. I contacted the manufacturer, who advised me to return it to Amazon, who refused my return and told me it was under warranty, meaning I needed to contact the manufacturer, who will "get back to me" for This has taken me over half a day to fix, and while I hopefully will have a working device at the end, I sure wish I had bought another one instead.

I was surprised to find it so easy and so useful
5/5

In a nutshell Nearly a week has passed since I was using this dehumidifier. I am really surprised by how convenient it is. Taking it out of its case and plugging it in could enable it to work. If you want to move the chair from one room to another, or to another house, or even a different state, it is very easy to move it with four wheels at the bottom. There is a movable bucket and it is easy to remove by just using one hand. The bucket is large enough that you will not need to empty it frequently. You can customize this dehumidifier by setting up the comfort settings and the filter settings, which will provide different levels of satisfaction. The timer also works perfectly, making it a very useful tool!.
