LG 10,000 BTU 115V Window-Mounted Air Conditioner with Remote Control, White

From the very first day, the fan shroud has made a loud noise. September 13 is the date of delivery for this unit. Unpacking it and turning it on was the first thing I did. When I hit the rear fan blade against the fan shroud (I have not yet installed it) there is a loud noise. A customer service representative helped me to resolve the issue over the phone. It was LG rep's intention to mail me a replacement fan shroud so I could replace the old one. Because the shroud mounting pads were both broken, I told him they had likely been damaged during shipping. It has been more than a week since the part arrived, so I called LG support again today (Sep 25). I was told by a very nice lady that the part won't be shipped. What the heck would they have told me on the 13th if this is the case. It's been years since I was able to install this unit and requested a new one. If "No" is your answer, we can send a technician to your house. As a result, my new AC unit is taking up space in my garage while it waits to be repaired. I don't know what to do with it. As seen in the attached photo, the mounting for the fan shroud is broken.

Yeah yeah yeah. My window air conditioner is incredibly quiet (compared to other units I have owned in the past), and it is extremely cold. There are 100 people living in the 100-foot radius where I live The year is Even though I live in an old farmhouse with not the best insulation, this thing just does a great job of cooling, and I have to set the thermostat to 70 degrees or more. In my opinion, there is just not enough vent for the size and shape of the faceplate. It was a complete waste of time and money Reflective window treatments, fans and various types of sheets can help reduce the temperature I was unable to make anything work. I bought the window unit after finally breaking down and buying it. In my research before selecting this model, I came up with quite a bit of information, and I've been very pleased with the result. Unlike many other brands that have recently suffered from a decline in quality control, LG still has a good reputation. In general, it was pretty simple In about an hour and a half, I was able to complete it by myself. Lifting the unit into the frame is the most difficult part. I had to lift it - it's HEAVY It takes about 60+ pounds to dead lift to chest height, so take care. In terms of the unit itself, it makes some noise ( as ALL A/C units do) but we have found it to be a benefit rather There is nothing better than the sound of white noise at night to drown out some of the more annoying sounds. The cricket, the cars, and the Those sorts of things. In no way would I describe it as loud. Our main concern is that we have run it continuously (when on continuously) every night from 8 PM to 6 AM, keeping it at a comfortable 68 degrees all night. The unit even comes out with air that is 56 degrees when I put a temperature laser on it. There is also an energy saving option which cycles the fan on and off when it detects a temperature change, which is something I would use if it were in a common or living I think this was the best purchase I've made in a while.

Despite my distaste for LG products, I have always avoided them. It would have been better if I hadn't relented because it was really good money that went to waste. During the summer of last year, I bought this unit. From June to September, the unit was in use It started this month however, the fan did not operate. This is the third month in a row that the compressor has not worked. In addition to these, I have other window units that have lasted more than 4 years, cost less, and are still in great shape. I will not be purchasing LG products through Amazon and would not recommend the purchase of such units by the way.

As this unit has only been in my possession for a day, I only have first impressions to share. This is an ongoing experience for me, so I'll let you know how it goes.

The box arrived from Amazon in perfect condition, and the unit inside was new and free of There is a lot of weight in this 10K AC unit. Shipping weight is estimated to be over 90 pounds, so you will either have to be reasonably fit and strong, or you will need to have someone help you move it. Putting the kit together proved to be much more difficult than anticipated and the manual isn't nearly as helpful as you might have hoped (shabby illustrations and sparse A few of the holes are not lined up- I have a very frustrating experience with the website not setting up properly. It still took us more than three hours to complete assembly, even though we had a lot of heads-ups The first thing I was doing was scratching and staring at the little drawings and wondering which way was "the front" of the part. Mounting in my side-sliding window was very easy, though I had made some modifications to it. A new mounting prep is being done (to replace a Haier system that worked so valiantly for nearly a decade before going haywire). In addition to this, I have had several negative experiences in the past. It took a few minutes of oohs and ahhs for me to realize how much quieter this system is! Testing the fan speeds (which seem minimally different) and operational modes, I found that they are all quite similar. IR remote works fine with only one AAA battery - it's simple but serves its purpose. Neither the distance, the functions, nor the angle capabilities of the device are noteworthy.

At this point, we can draw the following conclusions I have never seen another AC unit so quiet and I barely hear it at all. The directional louvers on the front seem cheap and poorly made, but they work as well as any I have ever used before. Unlike most 10K units, this one has an all-black plastic air path there is no Styrofoam to be seen (I still gave the whole path a quick rinse with disinfectant to eliminate potential mold problems). Despite the cold and quiet weather, the air is still. Green LED displays are visible from across the room because they are large and clear. On my unit, I set the ventilation to low and the fan to high It has been awesome to work with so far and it is doing exactly what I was looking for! A mild hum is added when the compressor kicks in, but it is barely noticeable. My overall experience with this air conditioner has been extremely positive, and I am far as the future goes Hopefully, things will work out. Message

The power is good and the quiet is good. This unit has been very enjoyable to me. There is a slight difference in the width. It is more like 25". All you need to do is attach the side panels, which are cheap, and one of mine came cracked (a little bit of duct tape and glue fixed it for me). On the whole, this product is highly recommended.

It seems to be very well constructed. However, the instructions are terrible - The text is lacking in detail and the pictures are small and unhelpful. As a result, I had to use a board to prevent it from being too big on the bottom of.
