My original was over ten years old, so I bought this to replace it. Compared to the older model, the older one was There is no name Emerson on the front of this either. There's a EQK there, but it's not correct Emerson quiet Kool, is what I interpret the acronym to stand for. No matter how you slice it, it's not what you expected. The price after tax was nearly $400, which is very disappointing. My intention would be to return the box if it was reusable.
(There was no inside to the box, only cardboard sides and straps keeping it together. As you cut the straps to take out the AC, there are no boxes, just flat pieces of cardboard. )
The air is coolish, but The summers here in Southern California are humid and very hot, so I wonder how well it will hold up.
OK, so I bought this unit based on the claims about how quiet it was. I am amazed! There is nothing more false than that. Today I received a brand new air conditioner! The first time I used it, I really loved it. I bought it on May 4, 2020. On May 1, 2021, I tried to turn on the air conditioner on the first warm day and it didn't work! This website shows invalid service numbers and cannot locate any valid customer service numbers. As it was rated quite highly, and I recognized Emerson as a reliable brand, I paid more than I originally planned. Don't forget to think twice!.
Despite the added bedroom, our central air conditioning system does not cool it much. It is thus more than adequate for a comfortable night's sleep in our bedroom. I don't notice any noise interference with TV sound due to the low level of noise. I would be willing to buy again if necessary.
Although not as quiet as the name suggests, it is also not as loud as it should I bought this ac because of its capacity, easy control, and it is able to cool much of my house as long as I use fans to move the air around. I dislike the blue light and the eco mode. I can't live without working on my car Despite its purchase for cooling the space, it does an excellent job of cooling it. Pros - Not as flexible as you might expect There is no quiet in here. Whenever it rattles, it gets louder and louder. As soon as it goes into eco mode, it switches to that mode automatically. Even if eco mode does not actually work for me, I would still support it. When the device is set to this mode, it turns on and off every few minutes, but never cools the room effectively. It is also a trivial issue that the bright blue light is a problem at night (I cover it).
The rest of the process is relatively straightforward. It was too thick for the 1 inch slot provided on the mounting bar to accept my old 1 1/4 inch wood window sill. As a result, we were able to upright the bar by unscrewing and reversing it to rest against the sill on the higher side. A second L-connector would also have been a good idea in hindsight I don't know if there is support underneath, but the screw that holds the mounting bar in place seems to be holding it in place just fine. I just wanted to let you know that I LOVE this air conditioning system. It cools my 550 sq ft space better than my old unit on high when run on low. The sound is much quieter there as well. As you might imagine, the high setting is noisier than the low setting. It doesn't have to be running on high for longer periods of time. Once it's on low or medium, it's up to me. Another perk is the DRY setting, which dehumidifies the air. My recommendation for this unit is yes.
