Questions & Answers

With a 24k btu unit, what kind of plug is required?

It's not a "plug-in" type of device. Someone who knows what they're doing will need to hard wire it with a disconnect. In a 3/4" conduit, 10/2 wire is used.

I have an insulated aircraft hangar of 1600 square feet. Is this a feasible option? I only need a small amount of heat and cool. ?

A 24-kilowatt generator can typically handle between 1000 and 2000 watts of power. A traditional home with 1200 square feet. Although it may be able to keep the temperature bearable, you should consider upgrading to a 36k unit.

Can the refrigerating line come out the side of the unit rather than the back of the unit for an interior wall installation?

Yes, instead of exiting through the back of the air handler, the lines can exit through the side.

Is it possible to move the unit after it has been installed without losing its precharge?

So long as the lines aren't unhooked.

For a fraction of the price of a professionally installed unit, it performs admirably
5/5

For comparable units, I was getting quotes of $6,000. I got this one on Amazon for approximately $1,800 and got 10% back on my card so I was wondering what kind of "deal" I would really get. I had it wired by a professional electrician. I'm guessing his bill was around $600 (he did a lot of extra work in my garage). So I got this for my garage for a fraction of the price of other quotes. It's hot and humid here in the South, and no one wants to work in it, but it's a fact of life. My garage feels great, and it quickly dehumidifies the space; I have a two-car garage, and it only takes a few minutes to get comfortable. I have a Mitsubishi split in the "basement" of another house, and I love it, so that was my benchmark. I am very pleased with this one, despite the fact that it was only installed a month or so ago (in July). I wish the technology had existed a long time ago and I had the financial means to invest in it; it would have been a game changer for me. Now that my garage has become an extension of my home, I have plenty of space to work. My wife isn't happy about it now that she can't park inside while I'm working, but that's a different story:.

Wow
5/5

This thing traveled to Little Rock and sat for days there; Then I went north of my house and sat there for a few days, and then I went south and sat there for a few days. I couldn't stop thinking about this thing as it was being hauled, loaded, and unloaded. What kind of condition will it be in? br>Well, it arrived in perfect condition at the end of the day. I was giddy with anticipation and couldn't wait to get started. Let's just get started because I've never done anything like this before. What a fantastic unit. br> It didn't take long to connect everything and turn on the breaker, then hit the power button on the remote and, voila, it worked perfectly. The air was extremely cold, and it magically cooled my store. br>I'm so impressed that I'm considering purchasing another for the garage. br>Please keep in mind that this unit has only been in place for one day. I'm looking forward to seeing how it heats up.

In my garage, it works perfectly
5/5

In my large Florida garage, I installed this guy. Now that it's summer, I'm able to do things like installation on my own. It took a full day at the very least. For me, the most difficult part was routing the pipe to keep it hidden behind other objects. For the past four months, I've had it all. It's great to be able to work in my garage again. It cools it down in an hour or less, and I get my daily fix of tinkering. Yay!.

Fantastic mini-project to make at home
5/5

split. Installing it was a breeze. It is very simple to set up. You will need to connect it to an 8 gauge 220V power source, as well as a disconnect. After that, mount the air handler bracket on the wall, drill a hole for the lines, and connect them to the outside condenser. That's all I have to say on the subject. My son and I spent about 3 hours installing the air handler and condenser after running the power for a couple of hours. It's the only one-of-a-kind miniature that you can make yourself. To the best of my knowledge, there is a split on the market. It's fantastic; Both inside and out, it's eerily quiet. I used a single air handler and a 24,000 BTU unit. It can easily cool an area of 925 square feet. ft. in 100-degree weather to 81-degree weather in 100-degree weather The temperature has risen to a comfortable level.

Keep an eye out for leaking valves
4/5

It was very simple to set up the unit. There are a couple of items missing, such as tape and an Allen wrench, but they aren't critical. Items that are commonly found in a home improvement project. When the outside unit's lower valve was turned on, it leaked. To pass the soap and water test, I had to tighten the cap a lot, but once it was turned on, it worked perfectly.

Amazing
5/5

It was extremely quiet. It was installed in my brick bungalow home by myself and a friend. For the hole, I had to rent a core drill for $100. It took about 7 hours to install and cools the entire house. br>br> I keep my house at 68 degrees by using the dry dehumidify setting. The discharge hose is bursting at the seams with water. Summer in Ohio with 96% humidity for the Most of the Most of the Most of the Most of br>br>It's a dream to sleep with! When I had a question, the support was also excellent.

This was an excellent purchase
5/5

So far, this has been a fantastic buy. It is extremely quiet, runs smoothly, and produces extremely cold air. So far, there have been no issues. br>br>Installation of the air conditioner was straightforward. Drilling a 3 was required. I had to drill a 5in hole through almost 11in of concrete, which took a minute, and I also had to run a completely new Disconnect for the unit, which added to my install time. However, the setup for the actual product was nice and simple, and it worked perfectly as long as you followed the instructions. br>br>The only complaint I've had so far is that the wifi adapter could be a little better. It does the job, but there isn't much range. To get this aspect to work, Network had to be extended. br>br>Anyway, Mr Cool and Ingrams did a fantastic job! br>br>Mark is a br>br>br>br>br>.

This is a true do-it-yourself installation
5/5

While many products claim to be DIY, this unit can be installed with basic DIY skills and without the use of any special tools. I used to work as an HVAC installer, and I don't recall it being this simple. Some reviews claim that the unit only takes a few hours to install, which could be true if you're replacing an existing unit, but I'd budget for 8 to 12 hours. Despite the fact that the task takes 12 hours, it is still simple. br>The outdoor unit is quieter than my box fan, and because it's in a shop separate from the house, I can use the Mr. Cool app to turn it on or off from anywhere. This purchase has so far exceeded my expectations.
