After buying this unit and plugging it in, you may notice a leak in the rear of the unit. The drainage port was secured and the area beneath it was leaking like a tap. How do you, as a consumer, deal with this? I hate it. Review systems on Amazon are beginning to cause me a lot of concern. Upon researching "leak" in the review section of this product, it is apparent this is an issue with this model and neither the manufacturer nor the distributor have provided any information on how to address this issue.

At the top of the unit, there are vents that are supposed to open and close automatically when the unit is The vents on this unit did not open when I turned it on (they did open Despite the warning on the label NOT to force open the vents, I discovered the fit-to-size isn't exactly what you would expect. It would be better if the vents had a better fit-and-finish. There is an edge of the vent fin that touches the frame around the opening for airflow on one side. It took all of a few seconds to manipulate that area so that a small gap formed between the vent fin and the unit's frame. The next time the vents opened properly, that did the trick. So be aware of this potential issue if the vents on your unit do not open properly, it might be a fit-up issue. Issues related to the construction and finish of the unit would have occurred during manufacturing or shipment (or when ME had things on top of the unit while it was being stored). Still, I like this unit a lot, and I was able to fix this little issue easily.

This was a bit pricey, but it was just what I wanted. the air conditioner with a portable air conditioner that made it sound like you were standing behind an airplane. There is a very nice quiet mode on this and I also like how it adjusts the temperature depending on which comfort setting is appropriate. I bought this for my rescued chinchilla room (they are susceptible to heat stroke). It has an awesome feature of being relatively silent (this is likely owing to my previous jet sounding ac that never shut off or changed). The windows in my house are not traditional, so I had to jerryrig it to stay in place. Especially if you've had a bad experience with portable air conditioners in the past, I would recommend this product.
