It appears to lean forward a little, but when you sit in it, it seems to move back. br> The forward lean helps you maintain a straight posture. It's been a while since I put mine together, but I didn't overtighten it, and I can say it's a very comfortable chair for me.
I have a rectangular opening in the backrest of my chair. In the side of the rectangular slot, there is a knob with a threaded bolt. Only a small amount of adjustment is available in the back. You could gently place your finger in the slot's bottom to feel for the back bar. To lock the backrest in place, the threaded knob must make contact with the backrest bar.
It's 18. 5", so there's no danger of falling off the sides, but you only have about 11 inches to rest your butt on before falling off the front if you include the back of the chair that overlaps the seat. It's the most dreadful chair I've ever purchased from Amazon. I've only had it for a couple of months, but the foot rail has bent, and the base where the wheels attach has bent. The pneumatic lift now barely goes up and down.
No locks. It's all up to you.

I was delighted to discover how comfortable this chair is. I am able to focus on my work without being distracted by discomfort.
It is extremely relaxing! One of the features I like is the seat, which has edges that help me stay in place so I don't fall asleep in it. There are no issues with the chair rolling smoothly. My kitchen is small, but I can get around by pushing and pulling myself around. Because of my health issues, I can't stand for long periods of time and needed something like this to cook and clean. There aren't any drawbacks that I can think of, except that I have to use a stool to get up on it, which is due to my short legs. My son put it together for me, and it was a breeze! It may be far more than I require or will ever require, but I'd rather have something that will serve us well for a long time and is of high quality. I am pleased with this chair!.
There is at least a 1/2" gap between the two pieces. It can only be secured with a screw knob. As a result of the broken knob, the foot rest wobbles and tilts constantly. Furthermore, the screw knob drives the screw into the piston jacket, scaring it, while failing to secure the foot rest; the stitching appears to be suspect; and I discovered small cuts in the seat's plastic 'upholstery. ' Don't be fooled by the appearance of the wheels; they are made of cheap hard plastic. I didn't like my seat - However, I suppose that is my fault. A 'winged' seat, I suppose, does not appeal to me. The chair is also difficult to dismantle, making "Free returns" a real pain. This is a chair that I do not recommend.
There isn't enough room for your back end to hang over because the backrest butts right up to the seat. The backrest above the seat, which was exactly what I needed for my tailbone pain, is shown in the photo. We had to hammer out plastic pieces in the back assembly in order to connect the backrest to the chair, so that is deceptive. Because of the odd shape of the seat, it's difficult to scoot back in once seated. Apart from that, everything is in order.
Great chair with real leather upholstery and a solid one-piece metal base that requires no screws to assemble. Last minute, the foot rest does not work, but I don't believe this part has been thoroughly tested. Unless you sit with your legs closed, the wings on the sides hurt my thighs; however, for a lady, this would be ideal.
I'm only 5' 2 3/4" tall. The chair back was too low on my back, putting more strain on it. I attempted to raise the back, but the back rod has very limited extension space. When I tried to raise it, the clamp mechanism became stuck, and I was unable to free it. I attempted to contact the seller through Amazon but received no response. As a result, I returned the chair and received a refund. Unless you're even shorter than I am, you'll want something with a higher back that can be adjusted.
This chair is AMAZING! I was pleasantly surprised by how much better it was than I had anticipated. I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about when it comes to the plastic cinch down knobs; they work fine for me. I suppose if you tightened them down with everything you have, they could break, but they work fine for me. If you're looking for a good desk chair, you won't find a better deal!.
The item is well-made and durable. It glides smoothly and is simple to adjust the height and backrest; assembly was also simple and quick. The use of less expensive plastic in key areas like the footrest holder and the chair back stem could be improved. Both are held in place for height by flimsy plastic pieces, and mine has cracked during tightening. As a result, the chair back height and footrest are no longer adjustable.
