The bed would earn a 4 out of 5 on my scale if I had the choice. Rather than give it the full 5 stars, since there was no way to do it, I rounded up. In all honesty, we are both smitten with our bed. My 7 year old daughter is also in love with it. I have to admit that I am just a little bit in the same boat. I searched and found this bed that not only checked all of my boxes, but was one of the most expensive. It had a desk area and a built-in bureau, which is very rare for a bed. I had to have these two pieces. The bureau is fairly spacious, though it has only four drawers. They are large enough to hold a lot of clothes, so we have plenty of room. On the top of the desk there is an extra storage area provided by the pull-out table. A full set of lights is included. The space beside the closet serves as a closet for her dress-up clothes, and just beneath the closet is a secret entryway that leads to a full fort that my daughter uses to keep her baby dolls. Additionally, there is a shelf for books and other small items, as well as It is a girl's dream to have a bed like this. The cons are One of the main reasons why I would take away a half-star is because of do not like this ladder because it is hard to climb up and hurts the bottom of my feet when I do.
