At one time, I used a similar table, but it was longer, to sew with a heavy sewing machine and I had to have two people hold it down for vibration until it stayed in place. Due to my lack of experience, I have no idea what result I will get from sewing on this table.
Thanks for your question, Michele. The table is definitely big enough to have a sewing machine on it, which is why I also bought it. The ones I saw in the stores were flimsy and way too thin. If you need a storage spot that is out of the way, this one folds flat to go right under your bed if it is a good size, has a variety of height settings, and is a reasonable price.

This table can be used to accommodate a sewing machine and the Sew Steady extension, as shown in the photos. In contrast with more expensive portable sewing tables, this table is much lighter and more convenient to transport. Legs aren't in the middle of the table depth, so you can place a foot pedal on the side that is more spacious and put the leg area directly underneath your lap/legs. The three new tables were different from the first three I bought, so I probably would still have bought them if I had known that. Although, I would have preferred to know before receiving the table that the design had been changed, rather than discovering it when delivered. The tables are sturdy, lightweight, and solid. I found this to be highly functional and perfect for my needs. I love it.
