I had nothing to be concerned about in the end. We bought six of these to replace damaged ones and to have on hand as backups. br>br>They're a lot thicker than I expected, and the seams are very solid, so I'm confident they won't separate. The Grandkids and Great Grandkids sleep in our spare bedroom queen bed, which has these. I say this to reassure you that if these tubes can withstand the abuse they've received over the last two years, you can be confident in your purchase! br>br>Excellent item. br>br>.
My tubed water bed has been with me for over 25 years. To guard against the possibility of a tube being lost, I occasionally purchase a new tube. I've only lost two over the years, the most recent six years ago due to the same failure as the first, when my cat discovered the tube while playing. This bed is fantastic! I really like how tubed it looks! This is the best tube I've ever received; the last one I received was not nearly as heavy as this one. This one has a thick wall, is full length, and smells just like my old baby dolls did when I was a kid. That kind of plastic is extremely long-lasting, which is exactly what I require. A long-lasting tube to help you sleep like a baby!.
My wife and I dug up an old tube water bed that had previously been missing one of the tubes. So, with only 7 tubes instead of 8, we decided to purchase another tube at a later date. Then there was a leak. Because it was a pinhole leak, we discovered it by chance. My attempts at repair were unsuccessful, so we decided to look on Amazon, where everything is sold. We placed an order for this and used it to replace a broken tube. We'll get another one eventually to give us the 8 that the bed was designed for, as well as their new liner. br>br>Oh, and don't throw away the caps from any tubes you replace; you never know when you'll need one.
For the price, this tube is quite flimsy, and I'm a little concerned about the quality, so I inspect it frequently for leaks. br>I'm going to go with a different vendor and keeping this as a backup plan.
The tube seemed to be of good quality and arrived on time, but it has a strong "plastic" or possibly glue odor. I have to keep the bedroom window open because the wind is so strong. I expected it to fade away with time, but it's still there after two months.
It is not near a seam or a closure: (It's nothing if it's been poked or pierced with a hat. ) This was supposed to be a replacement for the original Beauty Rest tube, which had leaked for the past 20 years! The originals are MUCH thicker and more solidly constructed.
It was exactly what I needed to finish my water bed. High-quality materials.
We adore our bed and are grateful for the replacement tubes that are available when they are required.
