I'm not sure how long it should last; I haven't put a treatment in my bed in a while, so I'm going to put four bottles in twice a month for the next six months.
Should only take one bottle, regardless of size; I've had mine on the shelf for two years and am hoping it's still good.

To keep algae from causing damage to a water bed mattress, you'll need a water conditioner. If you spend $350 or more on a water bed mattress, the best way to keep it free of harmful algae is to use a water conditioner.
I've been using it in my water bed for quite some time now.
Perhaps this was stated in the advertisement and I missed it before purchasing, but if I had known, I would not have purchased them. They don't keep the air out of my mattress, so I'm forced to use two or three bottles at a time to keep the bubbles at bay. When the product size is considered, it is not a good buy for the price.
I use these for twice as long as recommended; they work well and effectively prevent mold and bacteria growth. This has been my go-to for the past five years. Product of high quality.
Because I have so many bottles, the per-unit cost is lower, and I have enough treatment on hand to last several years. I wrote on the lids when they should be used so I know when it's time for a new bottle. I simply tucked them away in a drawer I don't use very often to keep them out of the way, and I was good to go.
If you own a waterbed, which I am sure you do! They were a fad in the 1980s, but fads come back every now and then! This is a must-have; it will keep the bubbles and aglae in check. After adding water, you'll still have to "burp" your bed. You were aware of this, though!.
Great!.
