Please accept my apologies, but this product is a complete farce. They mention two things. Slats are spaced at a distance of 4" apart. it's 3. 4". The slats are 54" long, according to the manufacturer. They have 53 years on this planet. 75". All of the boards are severely warped. It took a long time for the package to be delivered. They could easily make a good product for over $40 (for 13 sticks), but instead sent out this? If this were my product, I'd be embarrassed, so I'm only giving it one star.
br>br>Because of the mixed reviews, I decided to order them, but with great trepidation. They arrived the day before yesterday, and today was the day to dismantle the bed and install the new ones in the frame. The bad news comes first: They were about an inch too long, despite the fact that I ordered a standard full size. I got out the skil saw and started cutting them down, even though the box said they should be 54 1/2 wide. The good news is that it doesn't have to be that way. I was able to get the length so they fit very snugly into the frame because they were a little too long and I cut them myself. In fact, I had to pound them into the frame with a mallet. I could see how this was a big plus because they didn't move around in the frame when I put the mattresses back on, and they won't move around in the frame when I use the bed. br>br>At first, I intended to replace the metal frame with a completely different style of platform bed, but I couldn't find one that I liked. So I gave up and purchased these slats to provide some additional support. br>br>So far, so good!.
My built-in broken bed frame slats were the perfect match for this product. I can still use both the box spring and the pillow top mattress because it fits perfectly. Not to mention the fact that it arrived two days earlier than expected. My issue has been resolved, and I am very grateful.
I had to return it because it didn't fit in my bed. My bad is a standard queen size.
I purchased this bunkie board because I was planning to purchase a foam bed and use it with a steel/wire platform, and I was concerned that the steel would cut into the foam. The boards themselves were adequate, but they slid a lot. Then I asked my bed's manufacturer if it was okay if I just put the mattress on top of the platform, and they said yes, and it is. When I removed the boards from the setup, they splintered quite a bit.
I sleep in a queen bed that is standard in size. The slats are about 2 inches too short, and the mattress is falling apart. I can't imagine having to return such a large, bulky item. Going out to a yard sale with the caveat that the items will be shorter than expected.
The boards aren't long enough to fit in the bed and keep it stable. Purchase is not recommended.
The gaps between the slats are three inches wide. Instead of 2, you should use 5 inches. As stated in the product description, the product has a rating of 5 stars. The wood and fabric are both sturdy, with no odors other than the wood's pine scent; however, a few of the slats are warped. I'm returning this item, and Amazon customer service has assured me that I won't be charged for shipping.
