Questions & Answers

How far apart do the slats have to be?

I'm not sure how far apart the slats are, but we had to cut an inch off each slat to make it fit into the twin size metal frame! My sister had a power saw, which was a blessing.

Made in the USA of solid spruce in Amish Country, Pennsylvania, followed by "Origin: Could you please elaborate?

There is no mention of Amish or China anywhere on the box or on both sides of the slats, and there is no sticker or stamp either. The seal on the box is stamped c Jersey Shore p. e containers, inc e containers, inc e containers, inc e containers, inc Slats are knotty pine and could have been of higher quality; none have broken under my 200 pounds, which I have to loft with one good leg to get to the center of the bed because I can't scootch or slide. Moreover, I just peeled the siickers off the end of the box,,only dimensions there, hope this helps,i would buy from this seller again.

What is the maximum weight capacity of this mattress, and do I need a box spring in addition to the mattress?

My adolescent son is around 130 pounds. We've had no issues with it holding him well and not bending, even though he's a tall kid. We haven't used a box spring with them because they stand up to their own weight quite well.

If you move around a lot in bed, will these slide around? Also, when you sit in your bed, do they lift up? Is this something I should get for my foldable cot?

They don't move around. The slats are all held together by a piece of cloth, which prevents them from moving. All you have to do now is double-check that the size is correct for your frame. Measure, measure, and measure some more! They should fit quite snugly if the size is correct.

Boards are too long to fit in a standard twin frame (from the rooms to the kids)
3/5

This Bunkie does not fit my Disney Princess bed, which I purchased from Kids Rooms to Go. approximately 1 In terms of width, it's 2 inches too long. So, to make do, I laid the slats horizontally, but they fall off VERY easily, making it a major pain. I'll use an electric saw to cut each board down to size in order to solve the problem. But it's a real annoyance. Look at the image.

If necessary, I can cut it to size
5/5

Because a box spring would make the mattress too tall and there weren't enough slats to provide enough support for the mattress alone, I ordered a set of these for my daughter's bed in 2014. I kept the old slats and spaced them evenly between the two sets, which worked perfectly. br>They were so good that I ordered a second set for my son's bed in 2018. He sleeps on a box spring because his antique frame is too narrow. I marked the slats and was able to cut just enough off one side to make them fit nicely in the frame. br>Both sets of slats have held up well to two active kids who still jump on the bed when they think I'm not looking!.

For the price, this is a good deal, but I'm not sure how well these will hold up if you're looking for something that will last for at least a decade
4/5

Although all of the slats are functional, three of them had one or more pre-drilled holes. slits in the wood that already exist The slats, on the other hand, were not broken. Duct tape was used to cover the slits as a preventative measure. This item was purchased to replace a set of old broken/bent slats that came with a used ikea twin bed frame that I am currently using in my off-season bedroom. Apartment on campus for college. The new slats are comfortable to sit on. I'm pleased with my purchase in general. It's important to note, however, that long-term durability is not a priority for me.

FOR ONLY $29, THIS SOLVED ALL OF MY PROBLEMS AND SAVED ME HOURS AND HOURS OF TIME AND MONEY! For those who are concerned about the size of a twin bed, here is some information
5/5

On this twin bed, the distance between the frame side walls (where the mattress goes) was exactly 39 1/8," and the board slats were the perfect length. It should be neither too long nor too short. Since my daughters' beds and mattresses are both standard Twin beds, I can only assume that those who had boards that were too long had some kind of proprietary (like Disney) bed size so that they (Disney or whoever) could sell their "almost" twin size mattress if and when the owners needed a new mattress. Other than that, twin is twin (unless it's twin XL), so I'm not sure why it wouldn't work. br>br>My daughter was sleeping on a mattress without a box spring on a bed frame that required one. As a result, one of the mattress's three support boards snapped. This product (Classic Brands Standard Twin size Wooden bed slats) has saved me a great deal of time and money. I expected to have to go out and buy box springs (my other daughter has the same bed and situation, she just hadn't broken it yet), which I would have done anyway, but now I had a support board on the bed that was broken in half. I considered just getting a board from Home Depot and replacing it, but 1) I'm not handy, and 2) all of my tools (which I rarely use) are in boxes for the foreseeable future following our move). So I came across this product and decided to buy the box springs after using one of the precut boards. But for only $29, this solved all of my problems and SAVED ME HOURS AND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS! All I had to do was place the boards (which were connected to the nylon ribbon) where the mattress would go. Because I had three screwed-in boards, the nylon tape held the two boards in the middle together in a way that prevented them from lying completely flat. I could have left it like that because there was plenty of support, but I chose to cut the tape in one place instead. As a result, one half of the "roll of boards" was split in half. I'm overjoyed because it was such a simple and inexpensive fix.

Have your saw ready because twin size isn't the same as twin size! I don't have a saw of my own
3/5

I couldn't fit these into my children's beds because they were too big. To cut an inch and a half off each of these pieces of wood, I'll have to borrow a saw from a neighbor. br>br>Once I saw a bit of it off because it is marketed as a twin, but isn't actually that size, the product will work fine.

It's been wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too I ordered twin slats, which were far too long and didn't fit a standard twin bed frame, which was extremely frustrating
3/5

Now we'll have to take our own measurements and cut the appropriate size. Very let down. We could have made these ourselves if we needed to, but buying them was simply more convenient because we didn't have to do all the work.

As stated, this is solid hardwood
5/5

The item is listed as being made of solid spruce, and it is. Except for one slat at the head of the bed frame, which was a couple of mm too wide, I was able to hit it hard a few times and get it to fit WITHOUT having to cut it shorter. The fact that this one slat fits so snugly is actually a good thing, as it will prevent it from slipping or falling out. In addition, the slats are held together by webbing to prevent them from falling out. Without the use of a box spring, it supports the two mattresses as well as my daughter. I found a cheaper one on eBay, but it was cheap plywood made in Indonesia that smelled like glue (which is made of a resin that off-gases). gases. We like this one on Amazon because it is made of real hardwood, not plywood. The only drawback is that this item's shipping is excessively expensive.

For a standard twin bed, the slats are too short
3/5

This is for my daughter's bed, which I purchased. I was tired of 1x2s sliding around and falling out because they were loose. I figured this was a good deal, and not having to deal with that issue would be great. However, because the slats are about an inch and a half too short, they will fall through if enough weight is applied to bend them. (She isn't particularly heavy. ) I'll have to go out and get a new set. This should be a simple fix on the part of the manufacturer.
