Underneath the fabric, what is there? Do the slats form a frame or is the wood one solid piece? Do you know how thick the wood is?

Despite the heavy fabric, there is a heavy cover underneath it to keep the slats in place. There are 1" of thickness in it.

A "board" is not actually present

The board is not actually a board. It is simply a piece of gray fabric wrapped around a few 1 inch sticks. A wooden slat with a thickness of 1. 5 inches. The slats of the mattress can actually be felt under your hand. The coverage is not 100% flat. In short, if you need full support for your mattress, this is not the product for you. Instead, go to a hardware store and get plywood or spruce Pine Fir board instead.
