Plastic; It is, however, a fantastic product. Outside of the oven, it works beautifully. It's specifically for steaming milk for cappuccinos that I use it for.
I'm not sure. Our water temperature was measured with a thermometer.
I'm not aware of any. This appears to be a mechanical coil action.

I bought it specifically because it was for liquids and didn't require batteries. Call me old-fashioned, but I refuse to change batteries or purchase batteries for this purpose only to discard them. br>br>It comes with a handy storage sleeve and the clip works well on a cup. If you watch my video, you'll notice that I filled it with hot water straight from the tap. Because we live in Arizona, the water in the summer is very hot. br>br>Overall, a fantastic device. br>br>I appreciate your taking the time to read my review.
As a complement to my espresso machine/frothing cup, I was thrilled to receive this thermometer. When I opened the box, however, I was disappointed to find a thermometer that was three to four times the size of what I had expected, with an absurdly large face. Even my next-door neighbors, I'm sure, can see it. I have a 20-ounce frothing cup, which is nearly the entire circumference of the item. If you're nearsighted or have trouble reading fine print, this might be a good option for you. It's too much for me. br>br>The clip is extremely flimsy, and it will fall off when it is required to hold on tightly (such as when pouring hot liquid). I've tried everything I can think of to get the tension just right, but it's not working. br>br>While I appreciate the seller's prompt refund, I am now stuck with a kitchen utensil that I will never, ever use. br>br>Accurately reads.
Because I had misplaced and missed my original thermometer, I ordered this one. I've bought thermometers without the pan guard in the past and regretted it. I'm having a lot of fun with this tool!.
The temperature of the water did not exceed 170 degrees Fahrenheit while it was boiling. As a result, the temperature has dropped by 50 degrees. I only did this because my pitcher was extremely hot while frothing my milk, even though the temperature was only around 95 degrees. So I put it in boiling water and it came to a temperature of 170 degrees, which is WAY OFF.
This is what I bought to measure the temperature of milk when making yogurt; it's simple to use and accurate. For storage, it includes a small cap. It appeals to me.
I have old eyes, so the numbers were a little small, but they were adequate. Although I'm not sure about the accuracy, it appears to be adequate.
Steel construction with a lot of sturdiness. When compared to a digital model, it works as expected, though it takes longer to display the temperature of the liquid. For my ice cream recipes, I use it to keep track of the temperature of a hot cream and milk mixture. As expected, it functions properly. It is highly recommended.
This is a fantastic thermometer. Recently, she's become one of my favorite kitchen assistants. Very precise and simple to understand. I strongly suggest it.
