Due to some reason, I cannot really find any other option at the college I work at that uses these. It is usually accurate to within three degrees, but most of the time it's accurate to within a few degrees. When we tried to change the battery for the first time, the tab on the little battery door snapped off. Due to the battery compartment needing to be waterproof, we are no longer able to use the thermometer. A NEW UPDATE The Cooper Atkins team sent me a replacement battery door when I contacted them. I am very satisfied with their customer service. appreciate that I was able to purchase from a company that stands behind their product.

The door is flimsy, however, and the first replacement they sent me was broken. It was very, very careful that I placed the second one. As a result of now knowing how fragile the battery is, I will be very careful the next time I replace it.
