I don't have a gas stove, but I'm sure these would melt if they came into direct contact with flames. They shouldn't come into direct contact with a gas burner's flame if they're used correctly. They do an excellent job of preventing splatter and are easy to clean in the dishwasher.
Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. The screens can be baked at 390°F for up to 2 hours; the handle will become hot in the oven, so please handle your screen with an oven mitt.
A fantastic company in China produces these lovely screens.

This is much more effective than the old-fashioned metal-mesh splatter screens. They're also less difficult to keep clean. I was concerned that the fewer holes would cause the food to steam, but this is not the case.
They appear to be well-made and attractive. They can either be hand-washed or put in the dishwasher. The main purpose, however, is to keep grease from splattering onto the cooktop and counter, and they fail miserably at this. With the screen on top of the pan, I can see the grease droplets pop out of the holes and onto the cooktop. The holes are too large in comparison to true metal splatter screens, which is the problem. br>br>I tried to do as well as they appear to.
I really like it, and it helps me not to make a mess while frying my food and keeps my stove clean.
The screens are well-made and of good quality; however, I haven't found them to be any more effective than a traditional wire screen. The same amount of grease splatters. I prefer the silicone screen to the wire screen for cleaning, but there is some moisture condensation with the silicone screen when cooking. The product is of good quality, but there isn't much that can keep grease splatter at bay. (Update: The heat from the gas burner melted the silicone screen that my husband was using while he was cooking. The flame did not extend beyond the width of the pan. The screen, on the other hand, was much larger than the pan. If the screen does not exactly fit the pan, be very cautious when using it. ).
I couldn't give it a five-star rating because, in my opinion, it isn't very heat resistant. I've only used it four times, and the most recent time, a couple of the holes have grown significantly larger, and the material appears to be thinner and burned in that area. Why did this happen on the smaller of the two screens is beyond me. The larger one is still in good shape and performs admirably.
So far, everything seems to be going swimmingly. With turkey burgers, there was literally no splatter. Normally, they cause a shambles. The true test will be the hamburgers, which will splatter even more. The only thing I don't like about it is how short the handle is - It's a little awkward, but you'll only touch it a couple of times while cooking in most cases.
They are very effective at controlling grease and are very simple to clean. And because there are TWO, I can cook with more than one pot at a time without making a mess!.
This is the most wonderful thing I've ever seen! Lightweight, easy to clean, large enough for a 12" pan, and very effective at keeping the majority of spatter contained.
