This is plastic.
The sections screw off from the bottom so that they can be refilled. Has been in my home for two months now, and it has been a great addition, everyone wants one now
Unlike many other grinders, there is no cover on this one. However, it is not messily arranged like so many others. A friend first recommended this to me in a favorite restaurant, so I asked if I could purchase it Their supply was low due to theft by customers, so they were unable to sell. I've ordered it for other people as gifts, and they love it too.
These brown patches look almost black because of their dark color.

I've had the first one for about two years before it stopped working. The second purchase came with a guarantee, so I thought I would test it. Taking your instructions into consideration, I followed them. My address and the details of the problem were enclosed in a letter mailed to them. My first response was months ago, and I have not received a response, nor have I been contacted by a new mill, or anything.
While this is an absolutely beautiful set, I experienced a chemical smell as well. In order to air dry the bags, we left them outside for a couple of days, but when the smell did not change As a precaution, I suggested to my husband that I sprinkle salt on both to remove possible odors. In fact, I left it in for a few days, then emptied it afterward. There was a strong smell of varnish or whatever it is that leaves that awful smell after the salt was drawn out. Despite its strong smell, it still leaves a bad taste. If they don't dry out that way, I may put them out in the hot sun during the summer. In general, even if it is not dangerous, it is not at all appetizing. My advice to anyone would be to stay away from this product. When you get them, make sure to smell them to see if they are dry before using them. It would be nice if we had glass shakers back then. Here are some tips that may help!.
These are two of the products I ordered. There was a crack on the pepper side of the first one. In mid-June, Old Thompson agreed to send a new one. However, more than 2 months have passed without any word from him. Currently, the second one does not seem to be able to grind pepper, is There are no salt problems here. My package appears to be defective, so I am not sure if others have had this problem with their packages. I like them other than that. I have updated It ended up that I had to get rid of these and bought another brand. Pepper would always get all over the place when grinding in the pepper grinder. The company suggested that I buy the ones with the grinder on top after I wrote them. I ended up doing exactly what I intended to do, but the point was that I liked the way these dishes looked with our fiesta ware dinnerware. These are not something I can recommend.
This is the case. Considering the price of $25, this plastic is very affordable. This is a gift I got for my mom for Christmas. Although some of the pictures made it seem like the salt mill was a mill, I was actually thinking that it was a dual purpose mill. The pepper mill does work properly, but tables salt does not taste as good as freshly cracked ones, and who wants a set of mismatched items?.
