Questions & Answers

What is the weight of horse hay if this tool is used?

It seems likely that this scale could be used to weigh an appropriate quantity of just about any material subject to

How does the plastic on the body let you know when the trigger breaks? Do the sliders on the body stop at the maximum pull?

There is no possibility for this to You can buy a trigger pull gauge from places like Brownell, Midway, or similar. The electronic trigger is a little tricky and I still need to make several readings before I am confident about the result. If you have the time and creativity, you can weigh a string with a small can, then hang it from the trigger and continue adding weight to it Put the weights you intend to use into a can. You will get a reliable result this way. To make sure, do it a few times in succession.

Is there a way to note the maximum weight after the weight has been off-hooked?

In fact, yes. Indicating the max weight reached is indicated by a plastic tab that moves mechanically. You can see the black plastic tabs on the top and bottom of the slot in the photo. The good thing about this scale is that it can be used to set

For the first time you use the scale, how do you reset the scale to zero? There was a manual in my possession that I lost. Thanks a lot! ?

The scale hasn't been used since I got it last March, so I apologize for that. In order to make sure it was reasonable, I moved the one deal that moves down to the zero line and then used a couple of 10 pound barbell weights. A manual for the scale does not appear to have come with it.

Selected User Reviews For Weston Spring & Hook Scale, 50 lb (14-0304-W), Anodized Aluminum, Non-Slip Grip, Patented

This is a reasonable scale for the money, but if you buy one that is good
3/5

When I first received the scale, there was a problem with the bottom plug so the scale wouldn't zero, so I unthreaded the bottom plug to the point that it could not hold the The factory rather than the seller was my first point of contact. My contact with the seller was made through Amazon after a month. My scale works well after I received it. The company contacted me immediately and sent me a new one. A scale with this level of accuracy is not very accurate. As expected, I thought that would happen. Eventually, I want to come up with a way to weigh propane tanks and packs. For the price I paid, I did not expect high accuracy. I calibrate and repair scales for a living, and I know the authentic Rice Lake weights used In order to attach two 50lb weights to the scale, I used a short length of chain. Every time I conducted a measurement, I zeroed the scale. * * * * 1x 25 lb weight = 24 lb reading on the scale * * 1x 50 lb weight = 50 lb reading on the scale * * 2x 50 lb weight = 100 lb reading on the scale * * Note There were a few pounds of weight missing from 50 and 100lb when the weight was A certain amount of friction appears to be present Despite bouncing the weight a few times, the scale did not settle at the correct weight at first. It's really hard to tell in this photo, but the lighting was bad. It was necessary to support the weight with a rafter.

You are correct! As part of my overseas travel, I use this scale to weigh luggage and boxes
5/5

Several different fixed weights were used to check the scales' accuracy, and, much to my delight, they were exactly right. Despite the size of these packages being in the 50 lb category, these scales have a capacity of up to 100 lb. Using the scales as a convenient way to weigh packages is enabled by their design. On one end, there is a hook, and on the other, there is a strong steel ring. Hook onto the luggage handles or large boxes (by securing the strap around the box with a strap) and use a short steel pipe through the loop on the other end to My home has an open stairway, so I place my packages under there, and run a rod through the top and support my stair step to protect the top part from damage. Once I am satisfied with the level of the rod, I simply lift the other end. I like it a lot!.

The results are almost as good as they should be
4/5

I really like how it works. Like I said before, the slider is stiff, but works well and is One of the reasons the print is not a 5 star rating is that it is nearly illegible, which is extremely difficult for my eyes at 50. Despite its silver finish, I consider the white number markings to be a design blunder.

This is perfect for setting your reels' drag
5/5

I bought this to set drags before a tuna trip, and it's worked perfectly. To zero scale, I used two dumbbells between 10 and 50 pounds, dead on. It comes with a handle that goes through the main tube so it is not going to fall out when using it. There are many reviews for drag scales, and the spring handles always slip out. This one does not. It's almost impossible to accurately estimate how much drag you will need to fish correctly without setting It is considered a lot of drag for a 7 foot spinning rod to exert five pounds. There was a time when I used 2 pounds. You can't do this without a scale. The tuna rig is 25 pounds, and it weighs quite a bit.

There is a minor problem, but overall it's good
4/5

There is a minor problem, but overall it's good. As soon as I got it, the drag indicator/recorder was very sticky. Although I tried getting it to move by putting oil on it, it still seemed to stick at the beginning of its travel, which I'm sure has an impact As well, sometimes there was a bit of a stick in the spring, like it got stuck on something it had to skip over in order to travel. The Amazon company exchanged it for another one, and I found that it had the same problem except this time I moved it back and forth for a moment, applied oil, and it worked as it should.

An example of a spring scale and hook scale
5/5

The pound part of each reading must be guessed in this app, so if you want extremely accurate readings this probably isn't for you, but it's accurate enough for me. I have not yet used other scales to compare it to as I have not yet done so.

I like the way this works
5/5

My camera gimbal setup requires me to keep an eye on the weight at all times so I can limit my weight. I use this tool to stay in the limit.
