The short answer is that I just tested the set I got today, and they're nowhere near as good as my trusty Pyrex measuring cup, i.e. In the Pyrex, the 1/3 cup in this set equals nearly 1/2 cup. br>The longer part of the answer is that "cup" does not have a standard measurement, which is why serious bakers and cooks use a kitchen scale. While I'm not a professional chef, I've spent years perfecting my favorite dishes, and I'm still undecided about whether the volume difference in these cups will make a significant difference in taste and quality. If you look up the accuracy of cups and measuring spoons on the internet, you might be able to figure out if these are the right cups for you.

I was hesitant to get these as a gift because they weren't jewelry or fancy clothes, and I feared it would be the equivalent of giving her a blender for Christmas. I looked on Amazon and other sites and decided to go with them based on the reviews and the fact that they were stainless. I figured it would be worth it to spend a little more for something of higher quality (hopefully). When the package arrived, I was taken aback by its size and weight. Hmmmmm . For Christmas morning, I wrapped (or rather, gift bagged) it and placed it under the tree. She picked up the gift bag containing the 7 Pc Stainless Steel Measuring Cups and commented on how hefty it was after opening some jewelry and fancy clothes (yup). "What is this?" she inquired, to which I replied that it was the unique gift she had been looking for. Her reaction when she took the box out of the bag, as well as her mother's, was priceless - Her mother reached for the cups after she opened the box and began gushing about how wonderful they were. My wife burst out laughing, exclaiming that they were the most beautiful measuring cups she'd ever seen. As each cup was unstacked, inspected, and commented on, the gift-giving came to a screeching halt. "Observe the markings on the inside of each cup," says the narrator, "and note how the handle is integrated into the cup-making process. " It will never break off like the others," "Did you notice the little spout on each cup to make pouring liquids easier without spilling?" ", "These are so nice because they're stainless steel and will be easy to clean," and so on. So here's my opinion: br>br> Buy these cups for a new cook, an experienced cook, or any other cook you know if you want the best metal measuring cups you've ever owned. It'll be money well spent, and you'll most likely only have to do it once for each special person in your life.
These have been reported as defective by Amazon. I really like them except for one thing. It's actually 7/8 of a cup, not 3/4. All measurements were confirmed using a glass measuring cup. The 3/4 cup was just shy of being full after adding 1/2 cup and 1/4 cup. I filled a glass measuring cup halfway with water and poured it into it. More than 3/4 cup of liquid was indicated. I used the 1/8 measure to remove the water, leaving 3/4 cup. Poured into 1/2 and 1/4 measure to ensure accuracy. Only the 3/4 measure is off, so that's perfect. Customer service will be contacted for assistance, and the score may be recalculated. br>br>Update for 1/15/20 - So customer service was fantastic and promptly mailed me a replacement set of cups while allowing me to keep the originals. They, too, are plagued by the same issue. This is unfortunate because I enjoy using cups; however, I do not use the 3/4Cup measurement. If a recipe calls for 3/4 cup, I'll simply use 1/2 plus 1/4 cup, as I have always done. I've notified Amazon, and I'm hoping they'll stop selling this item until the manufacturer fixes their issue. If they continue to sell these cups, you've been warned, and Amazon's quality control department should be ashamed.
These cups are nothing more than a waste of time. My husband ordered me a set for Christmas, and the first set arrived with half of the cups dented on one side, despite the fact that the box was completely intact, perfect, and dent free, indicating that this was not a shipping issue. I ordered a replacement set, and the same thing happened in the same spot, only this time it was even worse. One of the cups had also started to pit. I would strongly advise against purchasing these.
They're both strong and attractive. The issue I'm having with them is that if they aren't nestled (stacked) in order, one of them can become caught on the one below it. The small notch protruding from the opposite side of the handle is what gets it caught inside the other ones, causing the cups to become stuck. br>In order for them not to get caught or scratched by each other, I've resorted to storing them separately. Aside from that, the product is excellent.
I'm head over heels for you. There you have it, a set of measuring cups. It was something I stated earlier. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Although. These measuring cups, not just any measuring cups, arrived a few days ago and it was love at first sight the moment I took them out of the box. Wow. Aren't these little ones adorable? This is the first and only time I've ever had. Mind you, this is the first time in my life that I've ever done anything like this. There were a lot of choices, but this one came out on top. And in my opinion, they are a winner! I washed them while they were still dirty. I was overjoyed at the prospect of finally being able to cook like a real chef (at 51!). They give me the impression that I'm an expert! It's amazing how small silver cups have already made such a difference in my life! They're lovely, and the short little handles add a nice touch. These will be treasured for a long time. Magnetic stainless steel measuring spoons were also purchased. This is a game changer! There will no longer be any plastic spoons on a ring. When it comes to measuring cups, there are a few different types to choose from. I'll never, ever use plastic for spoons (or plates, bowls, cups, pitchers, storage containers, or anything else).
She'd mentioned that she wanted to get rid of her Tupperware cups and replace them with metal ones. On Amazon, I discovered a variety of options; I'm not sure what could be better if this wasn't already the best. Solid; This is far from flimsy! Marked clearly; All of the engraved details will not/cannot be removed. Shiny. It's lovely. Stainless steel is used. Will last a lifetime and, if not lost, will be heirloom quality, capable of being passed down through generations and centuries.
These measuring cups are much stronger and heavier than most I've seen, with wide, strong handles that provide a good, positive grip regardless of size. They don't easily bend, warp, or become distorted in any way. The surfaces have a nice sheen to them and are easy to clean. These cups are suitable for use in both a home and a professional kitchen. in a high-volume restaurant kitchen I would strongly advise them to anyone in need of such a product.
