If I were the seller, I would contact him. It's been fine for me with no issues. If it were me, Duck Tape would do the trick. As long as the procedure works, it isn't really important how it looks.
On the end of the device are the batteries. There are two indentations on the edge for finger tips, and the rest of the opener is split significantly from the battery compartment. On both sides, you will also see three lines. You can pull them together by pressing them together. Although it may be a bit tricky to remove the first time, after that it should be relatively simple

Because the piece that holds the battery in was out of place and couldn't be reinstalled properly, I taped it up. It was too cool so I snapped back on the cushion that goes on the end of the grabber. In view of our arthritic hands, this was a really valuable item. It is unfortunate that nothing is being done to improve it.
My previous unit sounded like a cement mixer, so I was impressed to have one that is so quiet. A great invention and hats off to the inventor because it accommodates the disabled veteran who is older, has arthritis and is a Disabled Veteran. Thanks for doing such a good.
When you first look at it, you might think it's not strong enough, but give it a few minutes and it will amaze you. Wind-up of the inner clamp takes about a minute after adjusting it to the correct position and extending it fully POP, it's open, and you're stress free when the outer vice grabs hold of the lid and closes around the sides of your subject and securely holds it. The inner glamp then starts to twist counterclockwise while its outer vice is still holding the subject.
My favorite thing about this bottle opener is how easy it is to use. Immediately after receiving it, I popped in two fresh AA batteries and tried it out with a 17 oz, 502 ml bottled water. I have a jar of pickles that is 8 ounces. I was able to accomplish my goal with ease. As I just received it, this is the only jar I've tried to open so far. A recent accident left me with one arm and hand in a cast and the other fully functioning. Trying to open jars was difficult due to this situation. However, with this device, it is possible to get those stubborn jars of food open, even if there is no able-bodied person This opener was not difficult to operate with two hands. Putting the opener on top of the jar made it easier to open. The top easily popped off when I held the bottom of the jar with my hand and pressed the ON button. Due to the fact that I only got and used it once, I gave it a 4 star rating. A rating could increase or decrease over time based on how well it performs with different sizes of jars.
Jar openers such as this are indispensable. In the event that you suffer from sore hands or if you have any other ailments that make it difficult or painful to open a jar, then this opener may be just what you need. You can hear it working on the jar and lid as soon as it gets them. You can count on it to do the job. The jar will jump around a lot when the lid comes off, so be sure to hold it down. The product is great, thank you so much.
I thought this would be a good I realized it can't be used on plastic jars or bottles and it is quite heavy by the time I read the directions. My return is due to the fact that I need a product that is capable of functioning on every type of container.
As an arthritis sufferer, opening jars was a challenge. Since I have a USB wrist device, this has solved that issue. I have no problems with it.
It is very useful and handy in the kitchen, especially since my hands are so weak and I have arthritis in my hands. That opener has served me well for so long I can't imagine how I survived without it. Taking care of my husband means no more jars to be opened. You are so right. I love It will be given to friends and family as a gift.
