There is about a 4 inch blade on the saw. It measures about 2 inches long and 2 inches wide. This is 5 inches wide. This pointed part of the pen has a bend on You must cut the grapefruit at 75 inches from the bottom.

The membranes are separated by this when they are wedged together?

The answer is yes, but it would require some effort. I circled a couple of times, and then I cut diagonally. Worked like a charm. As a result of having a few grapefruit trees, I use mine quite often. There are serrated edges which are very useful as well as that curve in the end, which are two improvements over an ordinary knife.

It was a holiday gift for a friend, and I bought it for her Because I did not realize the knife had an additional piece attached to its back, I am not sure if I should give it to her. Could anyone tell me what this is for, and if there are any problems with it?

You're the best! My family lived in the 1950's in New Jersey, and I remember having a Grapefruit Knife, even though we were only able to buy grapefruit in the summer months
5/5

As for me, now that I live in Florida, we can enjoy grapefruit all year. There is no one who can speak for Grapefruit Knife. The same thing happens when you look for them in a store. Can't find the things either, for I'm not sure if it's the Baby Boomers. Who would have thought? However, this is one of the best things you can use to eat grapefruit! I find it very easy to maneuver in my hand, and the cutting edges on both sides slice neatly and easily through the inside of I think these ones are better than the ones we had in the 50s and 60s!.

What you need to know about using this amazing knife
5/5

The gratitude I feel for finally being able to retire the grapefruit knife I inherited 20 years ago cannot be described. You can eat a grapefruit at home because of these tips. Using the Old School Method in Manhatten A native-born American I learned from my dad, who was born and raised. It is a bit snobby, but nevertheless very The membrane needs to be wedged out properly between the pieces of foam, and this takes a bit of practice. At 10, I learned how to drive. My way is your way, so you can either love it or hate I'm glad to see you The following is a list of ways to make this translation You need to cut it in half lengthwise. Don't cut it lengthwise with the stem on the side. Use a clean cutting board. Using the other half, you can place your fruit in the bowl. In the end, you do not have to remove it and put it in another dish. 3
The tip of the knife, curved side up, should be inserted into the fruit center just outside the membrane circle while holding at about a 45 degree angle. The following is a summary of Push in slightly so that almost all of the handle is touching the rind, then lower handle gently toward fruit and gently saw around the circle, remaining outside of By removing the white part, which is bitter and tough, you will make it easier to eat. No matter whether the cut is square or triangular, you need to make it. In the end, all that is accomplished is to take out the The following are the five points It should now be easy to pop out the center circle with the curved part of the knife by lightly pushing up on it. one of the steps. Go back to 3 and take another look at that area. 1. 3. 4. 5. As you enter the rim of the fruit, you will push the knife in, again, the curved side on the outside of the fruit -- your "bowl. ". Straight down, you will push towards the rind almost reaching almost the rind. Try not to cut through the rind if you can Make sure that your bowl is clean!
As you push the knife on the curved side toward the open center circle, under the fruit, close to the rind, until you can see the tip enter the circle, that's the hard part. The angle will have to be found for yourself, but stay close to the rind while scooping down three or four inches to circle inwards. The following are all but 8 of the above. From this point, you can either cut the meat straight across the rim, or leave the knife at an angle. During the rounding process you will be adjusting and sawing carefully. If you don't want to cut yourself, you can remove the knife, remove it again several times to do step 7. If it's done correctly, you should be able to scoop up the entire fruit in one go without problems. After eating the inside, the bowl should have some fruit on it, so that you can have a tasty treat when you are done. Making the wedges is now the next step. Slice the curve up and through the white membrane on the side with the knife, scoop and saw under the wedge separating the two pieces. Next, a membrane will be present on the other side of the You can move on to the next piece without worrying about it. Then do it all over again. Due to the fact that the fruit is no longer stuck to the rind, this should be a simple task. I have 10. There is a thin white membrane between the wedges. If you do not have a gazillion minutes to spare, don't bother to remove. You can catch the juice as you drink the grapefruit bowl by putting it into another bowl. Then, repeat 11. You can now bite into the juicy wedges of fruit. You can add or not add a little sugar to your ice cream. Adding grapefruit to your recipe does not require All you need is a regular spoon.
12. It is possible to dig down into the rind a bit to get more juice with each bite. It's now time to have fun! Pick up your grapefruit "bowl," admire your work, fold it in half, then squeeze hard to get the juice from the rind into the second As well as the fruit, you should get some tiny morsels of popcorn. Once you have folded it in half the other way, squeeze it. It is usual for me to do one more fold and squeeze than most people. The 13th paragraph. It's okay to drink juice from the bowl or you can be civilized and use a spoon to finish the juice. I am in awe of this knife. I anticipate grapefruiting to be a daily household chore that is well suited for this device. Besides being cheap, it's also convenient. A pricey product does not necessarily mean a better one.

Exactly what I was searching for
5/5

This curved knife is beautiful. Grapefruit knives were something we always had in our house when I was growing up. Every time I eat a grapefruit, I eat the whole fruit. It is not my habit to go between It is curved so it is perfect for separating the skin from the fruit. As of so far, I have only used it once, so I am unable to comment on its durability. I like how well it cut and how well it works. Because I am unsure how silverware is handled in this house, I bought two, one for myself and one for the wife. There was some sort of a mix-up and it ended up in the garbage. In any case, I won't complain if I need to buy more due to the good price. The majority of people have never heard of them because they are not available in any stores.

I like using it for grapefruit, but it's also useful for many other things
5/5

In addition, Even though I found my grapefruit knife to be very useful for cutting out grapefruit sections, I have discovered that there are so many other ways to use When making pepper egg boats, I've used it the most. To clean out all of the membranes and seeds from the pepper, I cut it in half lengthwise with the stem remaining on, and then use this knife to cut out the section behind the stem. A slit is left on the bottom of each pepper so that more ingredients can be added. Typically, I use red bell peppers for this since they are sweeter, but green bell peppers can also be used. For the pepper halves to sit flat, steam them for 3 minutes to make them more flexible. It is possible to use an egg inside each half of a pepper if they are large enough. My usual method is to beat the eggs using a two-bowl technique To make scrambled eggs, measure out the eggs and then add a little milk to the measuring cup. Prior to adding the egg to the peppers, I add ingredients that I would use to make an omelet, e. g. , salt, pepper, fresh herbs, etc. To fill each pepper half, I pour enough egg mixture into the pepper half to cover it completely. I then top the peppers with ham, bacon, basil, diced tomato, onion, and spinach. Put the pepper halves into the oven and bake them for 20 minutes The temperature should be 350 degrees for 25 minutes. The amount of peppers in your peppers will determine if they take longer or shorter to bake. The last two years have been challenging For the last 3 minutes of baking, sprinkle grated cheese on top, and bake until it melts. I usually use chopped Monterey jack or cheddar You can make these pepper egg boats in advance, wrap them, and freeze them for taking to work for breakfast or for later use. Simply microwave them on a low power for 3 minutes to reheat them. About four minutes are involved. In addition to removing seeds and membranes from tomatoes for stuffed tomatoes, this knife can also be used for removing seeds from carrots and zucchini. You can stuff tomatoes with tuna mixture mixed with mayonnaise, and some chopped pickles. The filling is either a sausage or a meatball. The sausage and other ingredients that I use in one of my favorite fillings makes it one of my favorites. Whatever the case, the pointed point is, the curved knife makes preparing tomatoes for stuffings much easier without puncturing them. Besides, coring tomatoes is very easy with this device. It is useful for so much more than just cutting grapefruits with this "grapefruit" knife. It only takes a little bit of creative thinking. This knife is not as sharp as a high-end knife, which is good. Peppers, tomatoes, etc. would be sliced through too easily if it was too sharp. Despite being sharp enough to do the job, it is not extremely sharp. As a personal preference, I'd buy it again, and recommend it highly. A CORRECTED version of this sentence has been added. I've owned the knife for a little over seven months, and I use it almost every day. The curve at its end makes it an ideal knife for coring tomatoes - it is long, sleek, and easy to use It pops out if you just create a circle around the core. When it comes to removing the seeds and membranes from peppers, including long and thin ones like banana peppers, this weeder is indispensable. Simply cut the top off the pepper, insert the knife next to the inside of the pepper, and cut around the pepper. As the seeds pop out, the core of the apple is exposed. Once the membrane has been removed, use this knife to cut it out. It is possible to slice the membrane out of the pepper without puncturing its bottom due to the curve of the knife. One of these knives is on its way to me as a backup for the one I already have in case it is damaged or lost. I really don't want to be without one. The following changes have been made to the update of My knife has been a part of my daily life for 9 months, and I use it at least three times a week We clean bell peppers four times a week and core tomatoes four times a week. Grapefruit doesn't seem to work for me with this product. An instructional video is included to show you how to use this knife for cleaning bell pepper seeds and membranes. Due to the curve of this knife, it is much easier to cut peppers with this one than with a straight knife that could not fit into the curves inside the You can use this knife to scoop out a bell pepper for stuffing if you want to leave it whole. In addition to using it to core tomatoes, I often freeze them with it. It is unimaginable to think of removing seeds and membranes from banana peppers. As I was cooking dinner tonight, I decided to stuff banana peppers whole. The peppers were cut in half and I was able to clean all of the seeds out of the peppers using this knife. All of the seeds and membranes of the peppers were removed by this knife, which reached to the pointed end of the peppers. Using banana peppers stuffed with sausage stuffing, I poured 1/2 a jar of Ragu spaghetti sauce at the bottom of the dish, then put the peppers in the dish, poured the remaining sauce over it, and baked it for 1 hour at 375 degrees. I sprinkled mozzarella cheese over the peppers during the last 10 minutes of baking so the cheese would melt. I didn't blanch or steam the peppers prior to stuffing since we prefer crunchy peppers. I was blown away by this. This review was meant to be helpful for you I hope.
