Trying to measure, I find my reading to be between 3/4" and 7/8". Works well on peppers up to that size, but not smaller
My failure to understand how blooming onions are made has plagued me for years. A tool like this would not be acceptable to me. A small pepper is scooped out straight from the inside and its seeds and veins removed.
It can break too easily when used for coring zucchini, yes I have tried that as well
When it comes to large peppers, no special tool is needed. It's for the small, hot, round ones with an ice top diameter of 3/4 to 1 1/2 inches.

I was able to get it to work the first four or five times It isn't really that much better than just using a knife, but I thought I might become more proficient with On maybe the fifth time I attempted to use this tool, I was bending it (on a bell pepper) as I was pushing it into the pepper! They used some cheap metal that bends at the slightest pressure, but instead it's supposed to be strong, like a knife or anything you'd plunge into pepper but instead it's like a knife or anything else you'd plunge into pepper. This whole thing is now all but useless (it bends as soon as I put pepper in it and it makes a mess). Your money is worth saving.
Having a jalapeno corer of good quality is important. For larger peppers, it will work a bit better, but for smaller jalapenos I found it to be way too wide with a diameter of nearly 3/4". In fact, the corn cob would split the smaller peppers since it was practically the same width as the pepper itself. Using this tool effectively requires cutting the tops off all the peppers with a knife, then going back and using the tool. The tip could also be sharper, since I had to cut the peppers with a knife before using the tool. The tool should have been sharp enough so that it could have done the capping and coring all at once. I found that just sticking the tool in to the pepper made it gouge unevenly around the top and crack the sides of the pepper. Having said that, I would like to add that. . The process of coring about 60 peppers is now complete. About 3/4 of my peppers were large enough to use this with, and it made the process of coring peppers significantly quicker.
I don't know why I hadn't heard about it! As obsessed as I am! Jalape*o poppers are something I enjoy making at least once a week, but it's always been a bit of a chore! I have been able to reduce my prep time by more than half using this gadget! The quality is amazing, and I really appreciate that it can be put in the dishwasher. It's not difficult to take the stems and seeds out from the plant. It doesn't take longer than 10 minutes You can clean out a pepper in 15 seconds or less! It's a great product that I would.
You should not reach in to wash your dishes in soapy water! The best thing to do is to wash The ones I keep in my drawer are in the box. It may be worth considering thicker metal at the point where the metal blade meets the hands so that it doesn't bend if too much weight is applied. This may be easier to accomplish if the blade meets the hands at a greater angle. I consider this tool to be great in general. The job becomes a lot easier - I thought that was pretty cool!.
Pepper seeds can be sown with this tool. Once you have put your filling in the pastry bag, seal it shut with a rubber band. An even simpler alternative is to snip off the tip of a ziplock baggie. You can fill your peppers with this and it makes everything go so fast! It was a great buy and I ordered one for my FIL, who also loves making poppers!.
A spiral serrated blade has a diameter that is so large that I had to squeeze it smaller with pliars. It seemed that the serrations were still not very effective. Maybe on small jalepenos it would be more effective. However, this tool requires the use of a paring knife to help it work effectively. Once the paring knife is used after this tool, peppers can be cored. This tool caused me to lose productivity. I now use paring knives, which are more effective for this task. This coring tool is what I use in support of the paring knife since I have it.
Using this tool will allow you to coring jalape*o peppers easily. My only complaint would be that it should have been When I bent the tool while trying to core an apple, I was unable to do so. While I understand it is clearly meant for peppers, I feel that this should be more robust for an "all purpose" item. It is common for us as cooks to rush when preparing food which causes us to make shortcuts for this reason, we must work with time and the fewer tools we use, the more efficient we can be. My purchase could have been better if I had been more cautious. There are better things I have used.
We highly recommend this pepper corer because it is high quality, easy to use, and cleans easily. Jalape*o peppers are my favorite to use this for. It removes both the entire core and most of the seeds, and I never have to worry about the seeds falling out. After brushing off the seeds left on the corer tool with an old toothbrush, I use a new toothbrush in the future. Using this tool eliminates the need to cut a pepper in half and then drag a paring knife across the cutting board when removing seeds from the core and seeds. The steel cutter and handle are both of good quality. I recommend this book highly!.
